The Spectacle Blog

Jeremy Ben Ami, Executive Director of J Street (a so-called pro-Israel organization) has said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must offer a two-state solution when he visits Washington D.C. later this month or face more Palestinian violence.

Ami also criticized Netanyahu's dismissal of the recent reconciliation between Fatah and Hamas. Yet let's consider what helped Fatah and Hamas to reconcile. According to Abdullah Abdullah, a senior Fatah official, "No one in Fatah and Hamas movements recognizes Israel." (H/T to Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit)

What makes anyone think the Palestinians are interested in co-existing with Israel? It was only last month when Hamas fired a missile at an Israeli school bus badly injuring a 16-year-old boy. In March, Palestinians handed out candy after they learned the Fogel family (including three children) had been slaughtered inside their own home. It seems to me that the Palestinians are plenty capable of committing violence and celebrating it without Netanyahu making a peace offer. And yet the onus is on Israel to make peace.

Ben Ami and J Street are nothing more than useful idiots.

"Useful idiots" is absolutely correct. Tiny Israel is a gross threat to the hundreds of millions surrounding them? Ridiculous. Folks need to remember WHY the State of Israel was created.

The Palestinians already have several states that were ripped out from the former territory of Israel: Gaza, Jordan, Syria.

Gee, I hope Israel make the right choice. (Put your money on "prepare for violence.")

Michael,

the problem is that no one allows Israel to finish the fight and force a treaty, which is the only way it is ever going to get done.

The only path to lasting peace is decisive victory.

Phhtt. Liberals. Aholes no matter where they are from.

Offering the Palestinians land in hopes of peace is like offering Charlie Manson a sandwich in hopes of mercy. Let the Palestinians go back to their homelands of Egypt, Syria and Jordan or drive them into the sea.

I was once a fool who supported a two-state solution. The Palestinians are rabid dogs. Israel is surrounded by enough rabid dogs without giving yet another country for them to populate.

sounds like another self loathing jew. none of the arab countries, that have lots of land, (syria, jordan, egypt, etc) have offered to take in the palestinians. they prefer the palestinians to be "refugees" to keep the anti-israel sentiments alive. it distracts the population of those countries from their real problems and their lousy autocratic governemnts. jordan expelled the palestinians. jordan was to be the country for the palestinians.
bibi should stay firm and protect israel, as did sharon, and not try to please the D.C.liberals.

J Street journalists are not useful idiots. That is way to generous because it suggests that they do not know what they are doing and could be persuaded to have a change of heart. They are employees of George Soros and would sell their children's eyes for a handful of coins.
