Ensign to Resign

Sen. John Ensign, a Nevada Republican, has decided to resign rather than face an ethics probe he says would cause more “wear and tear” on himself and his family. Ensign, who had already announced he wasn’t running for reelection in 2012, was involved in an extramarital affair with a staffer. If Gov. Brian Sandoval appoints Congressman Dean Heller to fill out the remainder of Ensign’s term, it will give the Republican Heller a leg up in both the primary and the general election.

Most Republicans when confronted with public scandal, even if not in technical violation of the law have the decency to resign. This behavior is virtually unknown on the other side of the aisle. The GOP seems to at least have kept a sense of shame.

You also have to consider the fact that the mainstream media will hound them to the ends of the earth, while ignoring similar scandals on the other side.

Dean Heller is a decent Congressman IMO ( OK, that means not much on the Congressional level ) - Yes, I live in Nevada.
