Several possible explanations here:

1) All felons vote Democrat, so Chuck is just getting with the broader program
2) People with no brains or talent but with criminal inclinations have to find some way to influence others and make a living (see Gore, Al).
3) Chuck sees that Al is "making a killing" this way...

I think Charlie is looking to bump Newtered Gingrich from his seat on the man made glo-bull warming love seat so he can sit next to Nancy for the next commercial they shoot. Way to go Newtered on joining a political movement comprised of left wing moonbats & now serial killers. Gingrich/Pelosi/their love seat 2012!
