Red Sox Finally Win

Red Sox Nation breathed a collective sigh of relief this afternoon as the Sox found their way into the win column for the first time in 2011 with a 9-6 win over the New York Yankees in their home opener at Fenway Park. The Red Sox had got off to their worst start since 1945 with an 0-6 start having been swept by both the Texas Rangers and the Cleveland Indians.

Now even the best teams have bad weeks. But with a lineup that includes David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, Kevin Youkilis plus newcomers Adrian Gonzalez and Carl Crawford nobody expected this out of the gate. Maybe some homecooking was just what the doctor ordered.

Regardless of their 2011 start, the Red Sox aren't going to finish this way. Play Ball!

Richard: I hope you're right about how the Red Sox aren't going to finish the season this way. Currently they're in 4th place, but maybe by the Grace Of God in Heaven above, they can end the season in 5th place in the East. BAM!! Let's Go Yankees!! : )

When the Red Sox and the Yankees play each other I root for nuclear war.
