I received a press release from Rand Paul’s office saying the
Kentucy senator’s proposal “remains the only congressionally
introduced budget plan that actually balances the budget, and in
five years at that.” “With all the attention being placed on newly
introduced budget plans,” the missive continued, “it’s important to
remember the main goal of introducing a such a proposal: to balance
the budget.”
Ryan’s budget achieves “primary balance,” excluding interest
payments on the debt, but not the balance of having all spending be
equal to or less than all revenue. Ryan isn’t specifically named or
criticized in the release.

Although I agree with Rand Paul, it's too far to fast for the ruling class.

RON AND RAND PAUL SEEM NOT TO FAIL TO TURN ME OFF --Inspite of my agreeing with many of their ideas. Enough already.

The Pauls just keep on having great ideas ...that won't work.
One simply cannot turn our huge "ship of state" on a dime, either starboard, OR to port.
(Clint, that means right or left, OK?)

I really want to disagree with you about this but I cannot. My worry is that this budget crisis will be forgotten inside of an election cycle or two and we'll be right back on the brink of economic implosion. For this reason I say make big cuts now before it goes out of style.

Ken, I would rather try their ideas that you don't believe will work than keep the juggernaut steaming towards the iceberg based on our current model that we all know doesn't work. Neither party wants to make a dent in big government and they prove it to us over and over again.

Rand Paul's plan is superior to Ryan's, but it could still be more aggressive.

Why do people think the interest expense doesn't matter. For the average homeowner, mortgage interest paid is usually the largest household expense, and the one most likely to bring the family to its financial knees. As interest rates inevitably rise, the additional hundreds of billions paid in interest each year will rapidly continue to push the deficit ever higher.

Ronald Reagan:
"Our people look for a cause to believe in. Is it a third party we need, or is it a new and revitalized second party, raising a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors, which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people?"

From opposing provisions of The Patriot Act, to Co-Sponsoring Repeal of FCC Net Neutrality Regs, to introducing A "Read The Bills" Resolution, to Voting "No" on The Continuing Budget Resolution, to His Five Year Budget Plan, to taking on Harry Reid & Commander Chickenhawk Obama, to....
" U.S. Sens. David Vitter (R-LA), Rand Paul (R-KY), Mike Lee (R-UT), and Jerry Moran (R-KS) this week introduced legislation that amends the Immigration and Nationality Act in order to limit birthright citizenship to children born in the U.S. to at least one parent who is a U.S. citizen, legal resident alien or active member of the U.S. armed forces."
Our Tea Party Senator Dr.Rand Paul has Hit The Deck Running & Walked His Talk.
Bold Colors, Not Pale Pastels.
The Tea Party Rebellion Escalates.

Rand Paul makes a very good point. We need far deeper cuts in the short term to actually get this done.
Star Tripper| 4.6.11 @ 9:23AM
Perhaps Rand Paul's budget proposal will triangulate the situation and Ryan's will appear as the "reasonable" compromise. I know we disagree on how to tackle this problem but it is more like MacArthur and Nimtz argueing on how to take out the Japanese. The objective is still the same.
