Here’s something I missed last week. Having gotten the Democrats in a tizzy over his picky insistence that Congress be consulted before the president goes to war, Rand Paul showed he could be an equal opportunity offender. This time, he trained his sights on a likely Republican presidential candidate and former House speaker:

“I was happy to see that Newt Gingrich has staked out a position on the war; a position or two, or maybe three,” Paul said Wednesday at the Congressional Correspondents’ Dinner. “I don’t know. He may have more war positions than he’s had wives.”

The freshman Republican senator from Kentucky also dinged Fox News, joking that they were undecided between whether it was more fun to bash the president over Libya or cheer the dropping of bombs.

Good clever comments.

But Paul's motivation is he hears 'Hail To The Chief' in his head.

If only he'd do something about his hair.

I like this Rand guy. He speaks truth much like his father.

I think Rand cashes in the chips for his father. He is right of course.

Well, he calls 'em like he sees 'em. Refreshing in my opinion.

If an "equal opportunity" offender is someone who recognizes there is little difference between left liberals and right liberals, than I'm proud to be one. The neocons driving the GOP are classic 60s liberals who don't like the muzzies. Gingrich's ego is as big as Oprah's; their IQs probably aren't much different, either. I'm not a big fan of Ron Paul, but I like what I've heard so far of Rand just fine. Anyone so terribly outre as to offend your fine, movement republican sensibilities here at TAS is truly a breath of fresh air.

One day, Rand may wake up President. On that day, I expect the enemies of America to come booming at the incompetent idiot. Like his dad, he's good at dometic issues, hopeless on foreign policy.

And yes, I don't give a damn about his MD. I have one, too, plus an up to date proper board certification in my specialty, which Rand lacks in his.
