This sounds a bit more like Rand Paul is seriously considering a 2012 presidential campaign if his father doesn’t run:

In response to a question about his relative lack of experience as a lawmaker, Paul noted in an interview with Radio Iowa that President Obama faced the same criticism during his 2008 campaign.

“Didn’t seem to hurt him, did it?” said Paul…

“I feel the passion to fix the problems in our country before it’s too late,” Paul said. “And so, many who say, ‘Why don’t you just sit on the back bench and when your time has come in 12 or 15 or 20 years, then you come forward?’ I see a shorter timeline not just for me, but I see a shorter timeline for our country.”

lol.

He is too new on the scene is my criticism too.

Frisbee| 4.4.11 @ 10:18PM

Rand Paul seems to me to be an honest American constitutionalist. He would make a good president.

Warrior | 4.4.11 @ 10:59PM

That's right keep going with the establishment candidate. Maybe McCain can enter the fray again, lots of experience there. Newt has experience and like a true politician can take multiple sides of any issue. Let's keep going with the establishment candidates, it's only buried us 14 or 15 trillion in debt and perpetual war.

Leah| 4.5.11 @ 2:05AM

Your hostile over-reaction makes you sound like a jerk. Floyd wasn't knocking Rand Paul, he just thinks Paul's 2 months as a US Senator isn't enough experience to be POTUS. Floyd's not alone.

Sean| 4.5.11 @ 2:46AM

Rand has a life time of experience. there are a lot of different ways to gain experience and maturity other than serving in government.

Leah| 4.5.11 @ 3:13AM

You're an imbecile too. I like Rand Paul, but I'm not a whacked out Kool-Aid drinker like you.

Sean| 4.5.11 @ 3:32AM

You sure sound like one.

Leah| 4.5.11 @ 1:50PM

True believers like you are Kool-Aid drinkers, Sean. "Life experience" isn't enough of a reason to vote for Rand Paul to be POTUS. If you don't know that you're hopeless. Decisions based on desperation are dangerous.

Trust but verify: Reagan had it right.

Warrior | 4.5.11 @ 9:13AM

People like you are the problem. You present no viable alternatives. I never stated Rand Paul was the best candidate only pointing out the myopic approach of some "Conservatives." By the way, I disagreed with Floyd but never called him stupid or a "jerk." This is why rational discussion about politics is impossible.

Leah| 4.5.11 @ 2:13PM

There's nothing rational about you. Floyd made a valid point about Rand Paul's inexperience and you couldn't refute it so you attacked him for not offering a viable alternative. Your sarcastic post was uncalled for--Floyd is not your enemy. Neither am I.

I didn't say you were a jerk I said your hostile over-reaction made you sound like a jerk. Reading comprehension is your friend.

I also notice you didn't present a viable alternative, Drama King.

Jonah| 4.4.11 @ 7:02PM

What an ego! It's even bigger than Obama's!!

Is that possible?

Occam's Tool| 4.4.11 @ 7:39PM

If he votes like his dad on foreign policy, then he will be voting like Dennis Kucinich. He will get ripped apart, in that case. Let's see. But he's not on my list---too naive internationally, like his idiot dad. (By the way, to spare everyone the "he can't be stupid, he's an MD"---I have an MD, too, and my psych residency diploma has UCLA on it. Check where UCLA is ranked among programs in psychiatry, please. And, unlike Rand, my Board Certification was renewed in 2005 and is still current.)

Ad nauseum, Fanatic Israel Firster Tool Job is all Upset & Atwitter because Many of We Tea Party Patriots And Our Tea Party Senator Dr.Rand Paul & Our Tea Party Co-Favorite with Sarah Palin, Dr.Ron Paul Don't Asskiss Tool Job's Personal Israel Firster Agenda.

The Tea Party Rebellion Escalates.

Jonah| 4.4.11 @ 10:03PM

You're welcome. I was just trying to save you from more embarrassment.

Clint| 4.5.11 @ 7:33AM

Thank you Mrs. Crabnest.

Leah| 4.5.11 @ 2:15PM

It didn't work, Jonah.

Red Phillips | 4.4.11 @ 10:31PM

One can not be a constitutionalist onservative and support an interventionist foreign policy at the same time. You have to chose one or the other OT.

Warrior | 4.4.11 @ 11:01PM

You've proven your point on the MD issue.

Sheila| 4.4.11 @ 11:21PM

Oh gee, not too terribly impressed with your own credentials, are you? Stop comparing ticket punches to value as an American, let alone as a man. And let's drop the coy "naive internationally." You've stated before your opposition to Ron Paul (and as I've noted before, I don't care for him, but I like what I've heard of Rand) because he supports cutting foreign aid to Israel. If this is your issue, fine, but stop the pretense that Rand Paul just isn't up to your intellectual level. God, how stereotypical can you get.

The refudiator| 4.4.11 @ 11:59PM

Every time I read a post of yours I seem to be reading about how smart you are. In my experience truly sharp people never have to point it out to anyone. Just because you don't agree with Ron Paul doesn't make him an idiot. A man in your position should understand this. You also repeatedly make use of the Ron Paul is the same as Dennis Kucinich false equivalency which is the tool of a lazy mind. Let's see some smarts instead of just reading about it all the time.

Clint| 4.4.11 @ 8:03PM

From opposing provisions of The Patriot Act, to Co-Sponsoring Repeal of FCC Net Neutrality Regs, to introducing A "Read The Bills" Resolution, to Voting "No" on The Continuing Budget Resolution, to His Five Year Budget Plan, to taking on Harry Reid & Commander Chickenhawk Obama, Tea Party Senator Dr.Rand Paul has Hit The Deck Runnin' & Walked His Talk.

Tom Osterman| 4.4.11 @ 10:26PM

If anyone can name one veteran GOP Senator or Congressman with the vision and determination that Paul would bring, let me know. Otherwise, just bring back McCain, hold your nose and cross your fingers, because we'll need winning-lottery-ticket class luck.

Warrior | 4.4.11 @ 11:02PM

Maybe Olympia Snowe would make this group happy.

Leah| 4.5.11 @ 2:09AM

You're just as crazy as the RINO lovers.

Warrior | 4.5.11 @ 9:15AM

I guess you missed the high school English class on sarcasm. I could post a definition for you if you are up to possibly opening your mind a little today.

Leah| 4.5.11 @ 2:16PM

Sarcasm is all you have to offer. Try something positive for a change.

Wayne | 4.4.11 @ 11:46PM

He could appoint his father as head of the Federal Reserve. Imagine Ron Paul in those books. One thing about Rand Paul is that he seems to be able to deflect criticism pretty well. That will be essential in this election. BTW: What is it about being a Senator that makes one qualified for President? I don't see it.
