Perhaps a reflection of some of its hawkish moments, Bill Kristol was a fan of the president’s speech. Though he, along with David Ignatius and Thomas Friedman, may have gotten a sneak preview.

Maybe Kristol needs to retire along with McCain.

Oldefarte| 3.28.11 @ 11:45PM

I've lost all respect for Kristol after his outlandish/asinine comments regarding Barbour [ie Hee-Haw etc]. To me now, he's in the same league as that moron Mahar who just labeled Palin and Bachmann DUMB. Maybe we all ought to dust off some of the more saliceous jokes about Jews that have been told throughout history and see maybe how it then sets with DUMBARS BILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Empiricism| 3.29.11 @ 4:47AM

There is a reason why Mr. Kristol praised the speech. It was an excellent speech by an excellent president.

You know you have the correct leader for the times when he angers both the far-right (who dominate here) and the far-left of the country.

Keep it up President Obama, you have my vote for 2012.

It's funny, the only reason I voted for Obama in '08 was in response to McCain picking Palin. That made it easy for me, if he would have picked Lieberman he would have had my vote. But now Obama has proven to be a president on the scale of a Nietzsche-esque Ubermensch!!

beebop| 3.29.11 @ 5:54AM

If you voted for 0bama as a protest vote than anything else you say deserves the same careful consideration .... zero

wodiej| 3.29.11 @ 8:03AM

You're either a troll or not too bright.

Mike W| 3.29.11 @ 12:10PM

I would say that he is both.

wodiej| 3.29.11 @ 8:30AM

By the way, go over to the article "Wrecking a Nation". If you still think Obama is an excellent president despite being associated with psychos like Bernadine Dohrn, you aren't playing with a full deck.

JmsA| 3.29.11 @ 8:49AM

Spoken like a true dupe, sycophant. Bravo!

JmsA| 3.29.11 @ 12:18PM

Hey Empiricism, did you hear the latest? Qadaffi's forces are counterattacking and the rebels as retreating. Check it out, it's on Yahoo News.

kingsmill| 3.29.11 @ 1:05PM

And you are Nietzsche's "last man", der letzte Mensch, who deserves to be enslaved to your ubermensch, the pitiful BHO.

NeoChickenhawk Kristol Got A Tingle Up His Leg For The Commander Chickenhawk Obama.

Bob K.| 3.29.11 @ 7:33AM

Kristol is a neocon. As long as Obama keeps the American Military active in the Near East Kristol will find something good to say about him.

Obama and his supporters can hardly do otherwise and keep up the pretense that he is a competent Chief Executive.

If he is defeated in 2012 watch for his supporters to blame the Republicans and call for an immediate exit from the Near East and then watch how fast Kristol changes his tune.

W| 3.29.11 @ 7:41AM

Kristol. McCain, Gingerich, Bill O'Reilly, all feel good about "humanitarian aid," to Libya. Libya is not worth one American life. McCain has an instinctive reflex to get along with Democrats, such as Kennedy, Feingold, Clinton. They should be criticizing the use of UN approval as a substitute for congressional approval. Obama had a quick vote on obamacare, why not the war?

Wayne | 3.29.11 @ 12:22PM

I can't watch the buffoon O'Reilly. You can see the neo-cons are just Democrats who switched to the Republican Party to continue the warmongering they enjoyed as Democrats. They learned NOTHING from Viet Nam. They will continue to use US men and resources to engage in world conflicts. Trust none of them.

Now what Republicans are will to take a stand against this illegal war?

Grzmlyk| 3.29.11 @ 12:47PM

Wayne, I agree, but I think you are too easy on O'Reilly. He's an odious, obnoxious, egomaniacal opportunist who, under the guise of being "fair and balanced," is an ass-kissing Obama apologist and lickspittle.

After all, he's gotta keep those "hard hitting" "exclusive interviews" with the Pants-crease in Chief coming.

I love his generic defense of Obama whenever Obama does something particularly destructive or malign: "Come on, he's doing what he thinks is the best thing for America."

Gee, thanks for the laser-like analysis and being a "no-spin" guy, moron.

O'Reilly is a truly unendurable, braying ass who thinks the world lives for his inane interruptions when his guests are actually, you know, trying to make points.

I do not understand why he's the ratings king - I guess he pulls in all of those feckless, spineless, mindless, compassionate "independents."

Besides, where else are Olbermann's fans going to go?

As for Kristol, he's dead to me.

wodiej| 3.29.11 @ 8:04AM

Have no use for Kristol. Another RINO.

Michael L. Hauschild| 3.29.11 @ 8:28AM

Kristol is having a bit of trouble finding support for his Neo Con agenda; he was on Fox last night praising Obama, and first thing this morning he was seen on the White House lawn helping John Kerry find some old lost medals.

Loadmaster| 3.29.11 @ 8:46AM

Bill is one of the "elitist" that needs to get out to the main land more. As a retired military member I can thank him for his support but right now, it's not just about our military. It's our survival. Bill, John and Lindsey are all make from the same cloth and these dogs wouldn't hunt.

Again, I thank them for their continue military support but other than that....that's it.

Derek Leaberry| 3.29.11 @ 9:24AM

Bill Kristol is showing his stripes. He is a liberal of the right who has more in common with Barack Obama, a liberal of the left, than he does with true conservatives. Perhaps Kristol should show courage and enlist in the military and support the American empire-state.

Floyd Looney | 3.29.11 @ 10:38AM

Bill Kristol needs to put his pom-poms away, it is unseemly to parade around in that short skirt.

beebop| 3.29.11 @ 6:02PM

hahahaha --- oh God. Thanks for that. I really needed it although the mental image of his bony knees and the thing that old men wear to hold up their socks is burned into the back of my lenses.

Quartermaster| 3.29.11 @ 10:40AM

Kristol is in no way right wing. He is a neo-con which is what made up the hawkish wing of the Democrat party. He is a Wilsonian to his core, just as McCain, and both Bushes are.

Accepting idiots like Kristol and the others just named is a major part of what is wrong with the Republican Party. They are statist liberals who have worked with the Democrats to push us to the brink. Now we are faced with others like them wanting to run for president. God help us.

Floyd Looney | 3.29.11 @ 10:40AM

You sound like a left socialist troll.
