Seriously?

If this Pew poll is right, the Tea Party looks a lot like the Republican primary electorate as a whole except a little less favorable to Mike Huckabee and a little more favorable to Ron Paul.

I'm a Tea Party member & say No Mitt, No Huck, No Newt, No Trump. No old political faces at all. We need young blood, courage & dedication to the Constitution.

Prester John| 3.24.11 @ 3:54PM

Preach it sister!!!

If you haven't already, check out Herman Cain. He's spoken at Tea Party rallies, he's been in Madison defending Gov Walker, he knows what he believes in and he doesn't need a telepromter.

Cain--Barbour (or vice versa) in 2012.

That should make liberals' and MSM's heads explode.

I'm with you! The Republican party is not yet out of the woods with me. Another same, lame candidate and I'm gone.

Mike| 3.24.11 @ 7:29PM

Aleck:

Maybe you could fair better with the Democrats?

Sam| 3.24.11 @ 8:10PM

Mythbot Mike sucks at spelling. That's "fare" better. Better brush up on your trolling skills, dummy.

darcy| 3.24.11 @ 3:08PM

Ditto that, June C. I, personally, will not GOTV for ANY establishment candidate, much less vote for one myself.

DeMint, Bachmann, Pence are on my short list.

And so it begins..................

The subtle powerbrokering for the nominations has begun...Pew or Sshmeeewww POLL....

Bought and paid for to tell people what they want and clear the way of "no surprises" for Romney...to go forward.

Genuine Tea Partiers know this is a crock of crap. Sorry Spectator, but if you don't call it what it is....you are no better than MSNBCRAP.

Chuck| 3.24.11 @ 3:23PM

Romney stuffed the ballot box again.

NoLib| 3.24.11 @ 3:45PM

Or bought off the respondents. lol

Andrew Keirns| 3.24.11 @ 4:15PM

Romney in? I'm out. Gimme a third party that will put a conservative on the ballot because that person can win. There are thousands of us -- thousands and thousands ...

PattyMor| 3.24.11 @ 4:18PM

No to Romney, Gingrich, Huckabee, or Ron Paul.
Maybe The Donald, but I doubt that he is serious, but he's good to keep dialogue open. My pick is Sarah Palin, but open to Cain and DeMint.

The poll is a bunch of crap. No self-respecting Tea Partyier supports Mitt Romney.

Where do I send the flowers, the chocolates, or suitable caliber handgun ammo.

Occam's Tool| 3.24.11 @ 11:40PM

Dear Patty: Don't forget the Bolton or the West, if they run.

SGT Tony| 3.24.11 @ 4:24PM

My hope is for COL Allen West, but since I'm Army, I may be a little biased. Still, I like his style, whether on the battlefield or in the political arena. He does tend to just say ( and do ) what needs to be done!

danny| 3.24.11 @ 7:20PM

your poll is pure crap. here we go again. can you say cain/west, cain/bachmann, demint/any of the afore mentioned. i really don't know what tea party folks y'all been polling, but none of them look like me!

Mike| 3.24.11 @ 7:28PM

Looks like you all here at the American Spectator are just the outliers.

Thousands of Tea Partiers support Romney with their whole hearts. Love it.

Romney 2012

Sam| 3.24.11 @ 8:12PM

LOL! Only a RINO Romney fool would believe the liberal hack Pew poll. Sad.

1blumutt| 3.24.11 @ 7:50PM

Romney? With his state health care system? Romney with his see-saw on abortion? Romney? I don't think so. Romney is a moderate. Pawlenty and Cain. Good! As a TEA Party member, you would have my attention, here, with Pawlenty and Cain.

Sam| 3.24.11 @ 8:13PM

I agree with you about Romney, but Pawlenty's a moderate, too, and Cain, though I like him, is too inexperienced.

Jerry| 3.24.11 @ 8:59PM

DARCY>>>>>Established candidates... DeMint, Bachmann and Pence.. They are all Washington, D.C. insiders.. How long have they been in power???? They are playing the game...

Sam| 3.24.11 @ 10:15PM

RINO Romney invented the game.

Bob Dylan| 3.24.11 @ 10:59PM

If rhinoceroses run free, why can't we?
