While I am pleased that Robert Stacy McCain has seen fit to keep us up to speed on the trials and tribulations of Charlie Sheen I cannot help but wonder if all this drama is leading up to an elaborate April Fool's Day joke.

Charlie Sheen obviously is suffering from serious emotional and psychological problems, probably brought on by years of substance abuse. Just because he's rich and obnoxious doesn't mean he is undeserving of one's sympathy and concern. The man badly needs professional help, and hopefully he gets it before this sad episode ends in tragedy for himself and/or members of his family.

Sorry
I have seen this type of behavior up close. He may or may not be ill but beneath it all he is a spoiled self absorbed vile abuser.
He abuses women and by his public antics his children.
Children of such narcissistic excrement have very little chance of anything approaching a normal life. They are little more than a fashion accessory to craft a desired image at whim.
Hopefully the train wreck that is his life will reach its conclusion while they are still young enough to forget him.

Charlie has been making grown up decisons in these regards for decades and must take responsibility for them like the rest of us. Charlie has also been debasing our culture and society both in his TV carreer and outside of it. He does not get my sympathy but my derision. He does not want my concern nor my sympathy but rather my money to continue with his life style. His family needs to intervene. Where are they?

Sheen'll pull through-- but Lindsay Lohan might not,
she is going to jail soon as you know.

No, Aaron, as one of my friends said, Charlie's now the fried egg in that old "this is your brain on drugs" public service announcement.

Dear Aaron,

Methamphetamine is a nasty, nasty drug. I have treated many cocaine addicts and many meth addicts. The mood disorder that meth leaves is oftentimes permanent and bipolar in nature.

A Great website on this is Faces of Meth.

From what one can observe publicly, it appears that way. It would be useful to know what his drugs of abuse are, but the man appears to need a psychiatric evaluation and a chemical dependency one as well. One hopes he survives OK, if only for his Uncle Joe Estevez' sake----that gentleman is a veteran, a Conservative, and a fine horror actor.
