Madison, Wisconsin -- I snapped some more pictures at
the capitol yesterday (apologies that I've only just gotten a
chance to upload them).
Dave Weigel has a piece over at
Slate examining the odd obsession with the Koch
Brothers amongst the protesters, who have dozens of signs
referencing them. This one -- a makeshift sign made out of a box
from one of the many pizzas that have been delivered to the capitol
-- is my favorite, so I'm including it even though the picture is
so dark (sorry about that):
The Kochs are "The Boys from Brazil" because Koch
Industries has some interests in Brazil, and also because,
obviously, they're clones
of Hitler.
There are fliers all over the capitol advertising a rally this
afternoon (which I'll be sure to check out) at the Koch-backed
lobbying firm recently opened in Madison; this one was defaced
by someone who obviously has a flair for subtlety:
I should emphasize that there were far fewer Nazi references
than you might think, and there are many signs reminding the crowd
that this is a peaceful protest and no one should resort to
violence. Of course, there's also this sign, which is a variation
on a quote
from Fight Club, a movie about a madman who founds an
anti-consumerist terrorist group:
You may notice at the bottom there is a flier mocking
"teabaggers"; there are a few signs along this line (presumably
there were more last weekend, when Tea Partiers staged a
counter-rally). Here's another one:
That one stings hard because left-wing protestors would
never... um...
Hm. Maybe the sign above was instructional rather than
mocking.
Now here's a buried lede: Amazingly, someone cares about the
answer to this question:
I assume this was made by one of the older protestors; I imagine
that many of the college students in the crowd would be more likely
to ask "Who's Pete Seeger?"
The Palistinian style scarf. When do the suicide bombings
start?

Further proof that Glenn Beck is right about the conspiracy to
create a world wide caliphate. If you were a real patriot, Too Many
Tims, you would drive to Texas or Maine and confront one of the
Bushes. Beck is counting on you.

Mr. Tabin,
be careful up there. The lefties are very scared their dictatorship
is coming apart.
.....nation wide.

Cute comment Old Texican, and I could not make out anything on
the dark picture but it was a good and informative post.

I don't need to be "gaarded while I sleep". With the
disproportionate number of English majors in the disgruntled union
thug community, you'd think they'd be able to spell. But then
again, these are public school teachers.

I have been perusing Facebook pages this morning and there's a
protest rally of some sort planned for today in downtown Milwaukee
from 4 to 6 pm on Wisconsin Avenue during rush hour traffic.

The hooky playing Teachers Union has lots of unemployed &
unloved Theater Arts Major Fellow Travelers, who rejoice in the
chance to get out their crayons & costumes and perform street
theater for somebody or anybody .

It appears that the graduates from the Schools of Education have
entered the fray. No wonder they can't spell.
