It is certainly unusual for a potential presidential candidate to promote a potential rival, so eyebrows were raised Tuesday when Sarah Palin used her Facebook page (2.8 million followers) and her Twitter account (422,000 followers) to promote an Investor’s Business Daily column by Herman Cain.
Some of Cain’s supporters were chattering Tuesday night about the possible significance of Palin’s message. Was the former Alaska governor signaling that she might not run in 2012? Or, perhaps, was her promotion of Cain’s column — praising Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s leadership — a backhand dig at Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, who punted in his own showdown with Democrats and unions?
Either way, the news that South Dakota Sen. John Thune won’t run in 2012 has winnowed the GOP presidential field, and the question of who’s serious and who’s not is expected to get more answers between now and April 1.

Or maybe she just liked the article.

Ole dirty,
I actually read Cains article (Link above).
I liked what he had to say too.
I'm afraid the alligators in DC would eat him alive however. The man just can't have a clue, coming from the "private sector" as he does.
He is used to being judged on his leadership.....and results.
On the other hand, I could live with a Palin, Cain ticket.
Student07| 2.23.11 @ 1:20AM
I guess we are not used to seeing descent conservatives running for office.
Possible competitors or not, Palin recognizes Hermain Cain as a great conservatives and she agrees with his ideas. So she promoted article.
Palin will win by getting out there, debating her ideas and competing fairly. Something the GOP boys can't do hence why they resort to anonymous attacks/smears and back stabbing.

One of the reasons I like Sarah Palin is because she's not petty. Her generosity is a rare quality among politicians.

This is Sarah Palin. She says what she thinks. The media and pundits will never get it.

This moring I listened to a press release issued by Govenor Daniel's office. In it, he praised the Democratic lawmakers who fled the state for Champaign Illinois. He actually had kind words for them, and re-iterated that they were simply doing thier patriotic duty.
So, on 2 key issues (Right to Work, and Amnesty) Daniels is much close to Obama than he is to his own party. He refuses to even give a word of support for a bill that would hold businesses legally liable for hiring illegals, and he praised his opponents for abusing legislative rules. He has shown he has kinder words for people who detest him than his own grass roots supporters. And this is the man NRO, the Weekly Standard, et. als. believe will save the GOP.
Mitch Daniels is just another Bush wanabe. He shows the same tendencies to punt on every controversial issue - even economic and financial.

Ruling Class, baby, Ruling Class.
Finally getting around to read the book version of Angelo M. Codevilla's American Spectator article, The Ruling Class.
And Mitch fits the bill.

True leadership,
1. is secure in their own abilities
2. recognizes others leadership traits
3. is open to other viewpoints
4. doesn't compromise on principle
5. doesn't back down in response to critics
Palin scores an A+ on all the above
simon templar| 2.23.11 @ 11:03AM
Excellent post... A Stephens..this should be our credo as conservatives.
MtTopPatriot| 2.23.11 @ 10:38AM
I'm Sarah Palin!
MtTopPatriot| 2.23.11 @ 10:50AM
Don't take rocket science to see why Sarah admires Herman Cain.
Herman has common sense, principles of frugal limited government, and believes in the Liberty of unfettered Prosperity.
Great minds think alike. Sarah and Herman are from the same mold.
simon templar| 2.23.11 @ 11:00AM
Well, we are all confused and stunned and rush to find self centered motives when someone actually ACTS like a true leader. I guess we have not seen this in so long we forgot what it looks like. A lesson for all of us. If we are going to win this fight for America we have to stick together..keep each other honest and hold and raise each other up. Think about it, my friends.
Ken (Old Texican)| 2.23.11 @ 11:19AM
Well spoken, Simon

Well Cain showed up in Madison. Did any other potential GOP candidate. I want to see somebody run who does NOT duck the issues. I see that quality in Cain, Palin, Bachmann and West. Right now these 4 are at the top of my list.
Ken (Old Texican)| 2.23.11 @ 12:56PM
Wayne,
You've got my vote!

I think it is Ironic that McCain/Palin lost now the best ticket for our country is Cain/Palin. I hope they get the memo
