On short notice, American Majority has organized an “I Stand With Scott Walker Rally” for noon Saturday at the Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison. They’ve already got Andrew Breitbart and Herman Cain scheduled among the speakers, with more than 1,600 RSVPs to a Facebook page.
This event could be a major Tea Party showdown with the Democrats and unions who are leading the strike against Wisconsin taxpayers.
UPDATE: Dave Weigel fills in some background, pointing out that (a) Mark Block, former Wisconsin state director of Americans For Prosperity, works on Cain’s presidential exploratory committee, and (b) American Majority is largely funded by the Sam Adams Alliance.

This is our chance to beat back the corruption unions have assailed on American taxpayers.

I like what I have seen from Herman Cain. He is standing on the side of what is right. Good for him! He would make a good Presidential candidate.
Warrior | 2.19.11 @ 8:16AM
Cain will be a strong candidate if people would only listen to his words and read his resume. I hope Breitbart has his microphones and cameras rolling. Still unclaimed was his $100,000 challenge for anyone to provide proof of racist remarks being used at the health care signing debacle. I'll bet many progressives will greet Mr. Cain with Uncle Tom, house negro and other epithets.

There is a need for more --how about John Boehner ? or Mitch Mcsomething or other.
Obama has laid out his cards --time to push back and fight back.

National Republicans should stay out of this local affair as should the president.
big bob| 2.19.11 @ 7:52PM
too bad...the battle is engaged. National republicans did not start this, Whiner in Chief did. But National republicans may NOT be in it as much as the Tea Party. We all know they drive you libs nuts because they dont conform to any orthodox structure. It's okay to tell Egypt what and how to run their government...But when it comes to something that will affect all of us eventually, we should stay on the sidelines? Please, don't insult us.
Conservative Bob| 2.19.11 @ 9:18AM
Are you so invested in your take on this story that you are intentionally blind?
We need to support the folks we sent to office to cut spending.
I am not certain that dueling rallies will do any good and have the potential to do great harm.
We are not Egypt, this fight will be decided by the legislators and the electorate.
Leave the thugs in the streets, phone your support contribute to their campaigns.

If you expect that the blamestream media is going to cover this you need to think twice.
Having said that, I want the guys on white horses to be seen opposing these rabble crowds paid for by the DNC.

How can we follow this gathering? Will there be a video feed on a conservative website? Or will we have to just watch for You Tube clips afterward?

It’s ludicrous for public employees
To moan about their insurance fees
When pensions of private-sector workers
Make public employees look like shirkers
In contributing to the common good.

What is often ignored is that these teachers do not pay social security. Most of us pay 7.2 percent for social security, yet it will pay us far less . Also these teachers can retire at a younger age. What should happen is for the states to push them into social security or at least change the terms to match social security.
beebop| 2.19.11 @ 3:24PM
Agree!!!
A family member MANAGES a social security office and doesn't pay into social security ... so much for what's good for the goose ...
John Moore| 2.19.11 @ 3:56PM
To answer my own question, go to Breitbart at http://www.breitbart.tv/live-s.....-the-fray/
Jay Dee| 2.19.11 @ 7:33PM
They pay a reduced amount into Social Security. They will get SS but not as much as they would pay as a privately employed worker.
Nite| 2.19.11 @ 9:19PM
They have a state pension, so they will lose considerable SS funds as they should.
