It appears that Hosni Mubarak has resigned as President of Egypt as he has left Cairo.

When Mubarak announced on February 1st that he would not seek another term in office in September I asked, "Do you think Egyptians are prepared to put up with Mubarak for six more days much less six more months?"

O.K., it was ten days. But you get my point.

So now comes the $64.37 question. Will it be enough to mollify the people of Egypt until elections are held?

Does anyone think it's a bad omen Mubarak leaves office 32 years to the day the Shah of Iran left office?

hope and pray for the best, expect and prepare for the worse. Of course, the Obama administration may not do any of this.

Aaron,
The poor buggers don't even realize they are enslaved already....by the words of a warlord long dead. Imposition of Sharia will just make that slavery government policy.

Correct indeed, Ken, as usual. There's a bad moon rising.

Aaron, to answer your closing question. YES! YES! YES! This is not going to turn out good for the people of Egypt, Israel and the United States. And, as we did then, we have an amatuer in the White House as well as those under him.

Occam's Tool| 2.11.11 @ 2:44PM

Correct, Mark. Reminds me of a time in Las Cruces where it rained during a sandstorm.

Obama can only do better than the Bush family.
Even if Obama stands still, frozen in place, for the rest of his presidency, he can only do better than the Bushes.
True, the Bushes were better than Carter--
but that's not saying a whole lot.

Actually, AB, he can certainly do worse, and in many ways already has. If only he stood still could he make a case that neutrality is better than either 41 or 43.

He violated the first rule of holes.

Brooksie, he has already done so much worse than BusHitler it is beyond words to describe his utter incompetence. He's just your standard over-grown child we call a progressive.

Regressive would be a far more descriptive term for what he is.
