Real American| 2.9.11 @ 6:35PM
No Demoncrat would ever resign over something this tame. At least, Lee had enough decency to do so.
Patriot| 2.9.11 @ 6:39PM
Great minds think alike!
Patriot| 2.9.11 @ 6:38PM
If Lee were a Democrat he'd get a pass.
Tina B| 2.9.11 @ 6:41PM
Get ready for the MSM feeding frenzy. Look at the pirhannas go................
Floyd Looney | 2.9.11 @ 6:48PM
If he had been a Democrat he could have drowned his lover in a river, run a prostitution ring from his home or even been a KKK leader and had a lifelong seat.
Patriot| 2.9.11 @ 6:52PM
Yup. Tells you a lot about the Dummocrats, doesn't it?
DRed| 2.9.11 @ 7:39PM
Whoops! I think he misunderstood the second amendment.
bluecollarbytes| 2.9.11 @ 7:42PM
yeah....'if Chris Lee was a Democrat'...
but he is a Republican.
No reason this should reflect on the Party or fellow members though.
His emails combined with his
'I'm a great lookin 39 year old photo' reveal someone not to be trusted in public office. It's all about the morality, reprobate.
Leigh| 2.9.11 @ 9:29PM
Too bad only the Republicans punish the reprobates.
The refudiator| 2.9.11 @ 7:56PM
It's the left wing media & the liberals, that's what got 'em.
Leigh| 2.9.11 @ 9:39PM
You're wrong--the Republicans got 'em. Unlike the many Liberal miscreants in your party who get off scot-free.
Bill Hussein O'Stalin| 2.9.11 @ 8:34PM
What an idiot!
tonypal| 2.9.11 @ 9:19PM
To paraphrase Rush, if you're a democrat and this happens, it's a resume enhancer.
David W| 2.9.11 @ 10:02PM
Enough with the snide remarks back and forth between Democrats and Republicans. The man was an idiot.
Brian| 2.9.11 @ 11:07PM
Go home grandpa.
Allen Hanson| 2.10.11 @ 12:22AM
A scumbucket is a scumbucket is a scumbucket. Republicans purge themselves of scumbuckets. Democrats lionize them and protect them.
JimH| 2.10.11 @ 6:42AM
I think Putin looked better without his shirt.
Deborah D | 2.10.11 @ 6:51AM
All I've gotta say is, what an idiot! He deserves to be gone because we don't need anyone that stupid in a position of power.
Al Adab| 2.10.11 @ 10:33AM
Deb:
Barney Frank, Al Sharpton et al?
I know where my wife would put me (under the garden) if I behaved like this. Yes, we Conservatives should welcome the double standard. We hold ourselves to a higher standard of conduct and behavior than the other side. If we intend to stand for principle, then we must demonstrate the reason why. So long Congressman.
Mimi| 2.10.11 @ 8:26AM
When we VET these guys .... we should check their " URGE " control. In Nixon's case , it was ...." Walk up to the Whitehouse TIME" you posters are right ... In Demo-Land that don't happen ....unless they want to get rid of them. In our world, they all resign...EARLY ! Shows you whose side "HONOR " is on.
stmichrick| 2.10.11 @ 9:17AM
Before the dem/libs get too keyed up on guilt-by-association, did this guy ever really 'preach family values?' The assumption is that all Repubs do.
Looks to me like this guy WAS just an under-the-radar opportunistic mediocrity who got sloppy and wasn't even a good liar.
martin j smith| 2.10.11 @ 9:59AM
This guy is no their or any kind of criminal--but he is foolish. Did he really need to resign?--a Democrat would have been a Party Hero. That person would have sent electronic waves up Obama's legs.
MGabel| 2.10.11 @ 10:41AM
Big double standard between Rs and Ds. Shocking, huh?
Lee's actions are wrong and reprehensible, but so far, we've only heard about posting ads. While it seems certain there is more to Lee's story than is currently being reported, he resigned immediately. PRESIDENT Bill J. Clinton kept sailing right along after ACTUALLY getting Bill J'd in the Oval office by (young / subordinate / employee / not his wife...) Lewinsky, then lying about it to the court and the American people.
The hypocrisy is breathtaking!
Stan Redmond| 2.10.11 @ 10:48AM
Moron.
Lenny| 2.13.11 @ 1:57PM
Truth hurts, doesn't it, moron?
Tim the Enchanter| 2.10.11 @ 11:48AM
Great standard-bearer. Part of his district was Jack Kemp's old district. Nice to see we're keeping his legacy strong. Not. (full disclosure: I'm a constituent in NY-26)
glenny| 2.10.11 @ 12:41PM
Repubs/conservatives DO hold ourselves to a higher standard. I'd like to see Boehner verbally kick Chris Lee to the curb and admonish ALL such conduct, brag about holding ourselves to said higher standard and remind the American people that we won't tolerate it, while also reminding them that the Dems have no problem with it.
I said this about Slick Willy and I'll say this about Cong. Lee, if his wife can't trust him, neither can his constituents ! glenny
