Please See Iranium

On Tuesday evening, I had the opportunity to see Iranium, a documentary about the Iranian regime and its apocalyptic intentions towards the United States, Israel and the entire world.

Should this documentary come to your community please take an hour out of your life to see it. If it doesn't come to your community then you can watch it online here for a limited time. You can also order the film on DVD. Iranium features amongst others former UN Ambassador John Bolton, Cliff May and Professor Bernard Lewis.

Make no mistake. This isn't light entertainment. It is very sobering. Yet it is a story that must be told. I get the sense that while many people understand the Iranian regime is brutal to its own people. However, I also get the sense a lot of people don't think Ahmadinejad and the Mullahs are actually prepared to use nuclear weapons against Israel, the United States or anyone else. If Iranium doesn't convince you of the evil the Iranian regime then nothing will.

For their part, the Iranian regime is spooked about this film. Last month, I wrote about how the Iranian regime tried to prevent Iranium from being shown in Canada. What the Iranians didn't count on was the intervention of James Moore, the Minister of Canadian Heritage, who ordered the National Library and Archives of Canada to show the film. While at tonight's screening I learned that Iranium was shown in Ottawa this past Sunday to a capacity crowd.

Following the screening, we heard from two Iranian exiles - Siavash Sartipi and Parya Ahangari. Both are involved with the Confederation of Iranian Students. During the Q&A, I asked Sartipi if he was perplexed and puzzled that the Obama Administration seems to want regime change in Egypt but not in Iran. Sartipi replied that he was perplexed and puzzled as to why Obama is not prepared to "meddle" in Iran but prepared to do so in Egypt. He certainly isn't the only one.

I'll say it once more. Please see Iranium.

I did; it's quite scary.

This is not a documentary. It's more like a fiction story. Most of movie is lie or exaggerated.
Stop spreading hate around the world. If we are not making the world a better place, let's not make it worse. A war is no good for anybody. Non of the people of Iran or Israel want a war.

Ok, I'll bite. Please tell the readers here which parts of the movie are lies and untruths. After all, Al Gore's movie was demonstrated to have a number of lies in it. It is possible this does as well. However, you do need to identify which parts and what the actual truth is. Just saying it is a lie isn't sufficient, at least not for me.

Occam's Tool| 2.9.11 @ 10:29AM

A lot of the people in Iran want a war. Sorry.

Don't know, but one does get the impression American Spectator merely wants to sell books and DVDs.
"'The Excitement Of Armageddon', only $24.99, and if you purchase it right now we will ship the bonus book 'Lefty Behind: How The Liberal Media Will Be Stuck On Earth When The Rapture Comes' "

Tonight I'm going to party like it's April 1865.

As the Democrat, I would assume like Jefferson Davis, then. :)

Red Phillips| 2.9.11 @ 2:10PM

Occam, I'm sure you understand, bright fellow that you are, that Jefferson Davis was the conservative and represented the conservative side in that little skirmish, party label notwithstanding.

Occam's Tool| 2.9.11 @ 4:04PM

Yes, but it was also the doomed side in that conflict. First make sure you have the big battalions was the motto for the American armed forces ever after.

And, honestly, Grant wasn't all that Liberal.

Occam's Tool| 2.9.11 @ 4:06PM

Yes, he was the Democrat in the Late Unpleasantness.

Red Phillips| 2.9.11 @ 2:11PM

TMT, for neocons IT'S ALWAYS 1939.

Just try to argue non-intervention with them and see how long it takes them to work in a WWII reference.

Aaron,

You're absolutely right - this film is incredible. In my opinion, it is definitely a must-see for anyone who wants to understand what's really going on in Iran, what drives their regime, and the dangers that their nuclear program and ongoing support for terrorism may present for us in the West.

If anyone gets a chance to see it - don't pre-judge it - go and see it for yourself. You may find yourself very surprised. Highly recommended!

While the movie confirmed much of what I already knew, it did so in a powerful and sobering manner. A very important film that everyone should see. Unfortunately, the people who most need to see it (government policy makers, State Department, etc...), will probably skip it.

Jenna Mitelman| 2.9.11 @ 1:27PM

ShalomMetsJets,

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor hosted a private screening of the film on Capitol Hill yesterday, so hopefully this message will trickle down at least to a few policy makers with some actual power to do something about this.

"Eric Cantor hosted a private screening"

That's very disturbing.

Red Phillips| 2.9.11 @ 2:24PM

Aaron, do you really think it helps the credibility of this film that it features John Bolton? What neutral unaffiliated scholars, Middle East experts, foreign policy experts, etc. think that Iran will preemptively nuke the US or Israel knowing that it would mean the immediate annihilation of their country?

This is pure unadulterated fear mongering.

An attack on Iran because they MAY get nukes which they MAY then use wouldn't even be preemptive war. It would be preventative war based on a hunch. This is entirely contrary to Christian Just War Doctrine and illegal under international law (not that I necessarily have much use for international law).

Occam's Tool| 2.9.11 @ 4:06PM

Dear Red:

some people don't care if they die. Death is not a deterrent to them. Witness: the 9/11 bombers. Not all historical analogies are wrong, you know.

Nappy-headed Ho'| 2.10.11 @ 11:56AM

In the end, Iranium was finally shown in Ottowa. CBC reports Iranium screened in Ottawa after 3-week delay

Iran, of course, is now talking trash about "the Canadian policy of Islamophobia". Good for them for not succumbing to the threats. We in the west have to stand up to these Mo'Fo's. Too bad our own administration doesn't get it.
