Democrats announced on Tuesday that they have chosen Charlotte
as the site of the 2012 Democratic National Convention, hoping to
signal the political media that they plan on competing in all parts
of the country as they did in 2008.
North Carolina is among the 2008 Obama states most likely to be
flipped in 2012, along with Virginia and Indiana.
“Charlotte, North Carolina, will host the 46th Democratic
National Convention in 2012,” Michelle Obama wrote in an email for
Organizing for America supporters. “Charlotte is a city marked by
its southern charm, warm hospitality, and an “up by the bootstraps”
mentality that has propelled the city forward as one of the
fastest-growing in the South. Vibrant, diverse, and full of
opportunity, the Queen City is home to innovative, hardworking
folks with big hearts and open minds. And of course, great
barbecue.”
She went on to say that, “More than anything else, we want
this to be a grassroots convention for the people” — and later
referred to it as “The People’s Convention.”
The People’s Convention will take place the week of Sept. 3,
2012. The Republican National Convention, in Tampa, will be a week
earlier, starting August 27.

It is not going to be enough hotels and motels in the Charlotte area when the liberals come to the convention. They are going to have a hard time to find a place to stay. I am glad that I don't lived in Charlotte.
