Richard Baker| 1.24.11 @ 9:44AM
First saw him in 1958 on, if memory serves, WXYZ in Detroit. He was the bounciest guy I'd ever seen and never stopped moving during the broadcast. RIP, Jack. We'll miss ye.

Some of my earliest memories are of me and my sister watching Jack LaLanne (around 6:00 or 6:30 a.m.?) on Saturday and Sunday mornings, waiting for the cartoons to start.
This was after listening to the music the T.V. station played while showing the test patern of technicolor bars, and then the National Anthem. Both American and Canadian, here, in the Detroit area. Remember those days folks?
This was in the early '70s, for those of you too young to know the days of only 6 T.V. stations. T.V. actually went off the air at night, and came back on in the morning, in those days kids.
Anyway, we would follow Jack's exercises as best we could. He would even show housewives how to exercise with everday household objects, like kitchen chairs. I remember these were hard to do because we had swivel chairs!
May God bring his soul to rest, and give strength to his family.
