Good News for Giffords

Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords could be released from hospital as early as Friday. She would be then transferred to a rehabilitation facility in Houston where her husband Mark E. Kelly is based.

This is absolutely fantastic news. The fact that it is even possible for Giffords to have recovered sufficiently to be released from intensive care less than two weeks after she was shot in the head at close range is a testament to both the spirit of Giffords as well as Dr. Peter Rhee and the staff at Tucson University Medical Center.

That is truly good news. Quick recovery, Ma'am.

Supermarket videotape shows that Judge John Roll was shot and killed as he shielded an injured man during the shooting rampage. The injured man survived because of Roll's courageous sacrifice.
Men like Judge Roll give me hope. God bless and keep him.

I'm happy for Gabby Giffords and her family. I hope she makes a full recovery.
