A Mormon "Modern Love" author reflects on how Brokeback Mountain gave her the courage to get an IUD while simultaneously implying she is not a fan of Mitt Romney, i.e., "Oddly, my trip to Planned Parenthood provided much that the church had not in recent years."

Oddly? Is there usually a lot of overlap for you, sister?

Also: Hey, E. Annie Proulx, it's no Oscar, but it's something, right?

This just in:
"Virgin Soon-to-be-ex-Mormon Woman gets screwed."
Since she doesn't need a faithful family man, she just take the dick, thank you very much. Talk about the sexualization of men.

"I would have an IUD instead of children; I would have intellectual and spiritual freedom; I would write poems and finally live inside my body; I would, for the love of God, feel a man’s hands on me before I died. "

The opening phrase makes no sense. Women bear children; they do not "have" them. And I seriously doubt if the author can bear IUDs.

This absurd essay reveals that the author really has no understanding of marriage. It is a sacrament, and not a partnership. The Marriage Act itself is a sign of Christ's love for Sinners. It is an act of self-giving. Marriage is that -self giving. Nothing more, nothing less.

The NYT's seems to have an endless supply of these 30 or 40 something single women who are both self loathing and self absorbed. Thier stories are pretty much the same and they've become quite boring.

Thanks for highlighting this odious essay from this Sex In the City clone. Yes, yes, Planned Parenthood does horrible things, but, hey!, no biggie, she's gettin' laid. Win-win?!
