Remove Dupnik

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik has quickly made himself a reputation as one of the most incompetent and irresponsible law enforcement officers in recent history. Spending his time spewing irrational left-wing opinions that have, as he has been forced to admit, no basis in fact whatsoever, Dupnik is rapidly building the case for not convicting this mass murderer of anything.

Why?

The killer didn’t do it.

Sheriff Dupnik is blaming Rush Limbaugh for the massacre.

This man needs to be relieved of his job post haste before he does any more damage.

There’s no point whatsoever in answering this insulting insanity further.

Enough said.

Wonder how the voters in Pima County feel now about their choice?

"Jared Lee Loughner attended Pima Community College between 2005 and 2010. From February to September of last year, he was involved in five "classroom and library disruptions" that were handled by campus police, the school's officials said late Saturday.

He was suspended in late September after the college police found a video on YouTube in which Loughner claimed the college is "illegal" under the U.S. Constitution, officials said.

School officials said police officers delivered a letter explaining the decision to his home, where they spoke with Loughner and his parents. He was told he could return to campus only for an appointment to discuss the disciplinary actions against him in early October. During that meeting with campus officials, Loughner withdrew from the school.

Officials said they sent a subsequent letter telling Loughner that if he planned to re-enroll "he must resolve his Code of Conduct violations and obtain a mental health clearance indicating, in the opinion of a mental health professional, his presence at the College does not present a danger to himself or others."

Thanks to Dupnik and the media Loughner will be able to ask for a change of venue (the way this has been plastered across the news the closest place for the trial may have to be Belgium). The stupidity I have seen is unfortunately not unbelievable.

Change of venue might be good, move it to a non-liberal controlled city & maybe he'll get the death penalty he deserves.

glenny| 1.11.11 @ 3:22PM

Change of venue? Move it to Baton Rouge. We'll take "care" of him. glenny

Hey Glenny!
I'm here in BR and said the same thing to the TV when I heard Judge Napalitano mention that there would have to be a change of venue because of one of the victims was a judge. Please send the killer here for his trial. No one will try to get out of this jury duty summons in the Red Stick!

Does anyone know the email address of the sheriff so we can write and let him know how disgusting his behavior is and his superiors?? Fire him! Or Resign

Eric Cartman| 1.11.11 @ 1:07PM

Yup: http://pimasheriff.org/contacts/

Already did so.

Credo| 1.11.11 @ 1:12PM

Arizona does have recall provisions. This looks like an opportunity to exercise them.

Nice CYA move, Sheriff Dupnik: Blame Rush Limbaugh for your professional negligence and dereliction of duty! What a sorry excuse for a law enforcement official.

This guy has got to go.

AP-Austin, Texas District Attorney Ronnie Earle has announced he is departing his Texas home and county office in order to take a new position out of state. “I have been offered the newly created position of People’s Provisional Principle Prosecutor by Pima County, Arizona Sheriff Clarence Dupnik”, Earle said. “I look forward to the opportunity to create in Tucson what we did in Austin”.
Fresh from his former office’s victory in the Tom Delay prosecution and sentencing, Earle announced that arrangements were under way to empanel several grand juries in order to help Sheriff Dupnik’s newly enacted anti-Inflamed Rhetoric ordinance. “If at first I don’t succeed, un mas, por favor” Earle was quoted as saying, setting aside a bookmarked copy of “Going Rogue” as he thumbed through the catalogue of Pima County judicial officers. “Clarence and I will show these purveyors of vitriol that business, or politics as usual is a thing of the past. There’s going to be a new sheriff, uh, a new prosecutor and an old sheriff in town, now”.

sheriff numnuts should be fired and sent off to sorrosville where he can join the rest of the commie screw balls.

The L.A. district attorney's Team O.J. is still the one to beat.

Willey| 1.11.11 @ 4:17PM

That jury was never going to convict OJ regardless of the evidence or the prosecutor.

Sorry gang, in AZ Sheriffs are elected and only the voters or criminal courts, could remove them. Tucson is the liberal hotbed of AZ full of victims, illegals and university socialists. Little hope there. However, this sheriff had reports over the last couple years about this shooter making threats against various officials and he refused to investigate. Now of course to cover his behind he blames Rush and the Right. Nothing new under the sun.

Loadmaster| 1.12.11 @ 7:44AM

I have sent an email to Gov Jan Brewers office asking that her AG get involved and asking the question - What did the Sheriff know about the shooter and when did he know that this kid was a dangerous individual.

Charlie Phillips | 5.28.11 @ 2:39AM

Last year, Sheriff Dupnik confessed to my mother--who attended daily Catholic mass with him as a fellow parishioner of St. Joseph's in Tucson--that he had Alzheimer's. He is a loose cannon who is out of touch and out of control.
