Those Dangerous Atheists

Jared Loughner was an avowed atheist. Jared Loughner shot 19 people, killing six. Therefore atheists are murderers. We must therefore pass a law making it illegal to profess atheism while speaking about a member of the U.S. Congress. And it should be illegal to allow an atheist within 100 feet of a congressman, too.

That is all.

Thank you, Kaul Prugman. And Deith Olberwoman.

Not.

Same should be said for Nidal Malik Hassan and radical Islam.

It is time to start sticking the cheapening of this incident right where it belongs: The Left and their pals in the media. When are the Republicans going to start answering these inane questions by saying "You can't be that stupid. Are you saying when Obama said to bring a gun to the fight, he is to blame for this, too?" When will the Stupid Party start to answer back? Putzes.

Oldefarte| 1.10.11 @ 12:43PM

Quin, As you, I and many others are extremely aware, this sad, sad, sad happening could have easily been avoided by the absense of LIBERALISM. The left has, is and will continue to use these type dastardly occurrances to their political advantage by ranting/raving against the right [when it is oppositely they, the left, who are at fault]. These things are not attached to politics, and if so, only in the remotist extent. This mentally deranged perpatrator [like the Columbine HS shooters, the Manson followers, etc] are sadly worthless creatures that have been mentally abused by their so-called parents and families. They are born to a liberalistic, non-caring environment that place their adolencent children in front of the imbicilic television and then proceed to go off to indulge themselves in drugs, alcohol, sex, illegality, etc. These children are abondoned at birth, and they are raised by the violence and liberal viewpoints of television and movies [which are produced by sleazeball, so termned ARTISTS that are allowed to put forth their CREATIVE GARBAGE that warps/indoctrinates/brainwashes these innocent childrens' minds]. The liberal Hollywood are the most direct causes of this and other similar unfortionate tradegies, ie Saturday's massacre. This child-killer will be found to be not smart enough to be involved in politics, and will be eventually outed as a loner/loser, with no value system, no sense of morality, no religious affiliation, no parental/family guidance, etc. He should be viewed by the public as a sad, pathetic creature who was destroyed/ruined at birth [since he was probably born to an environment that simply did not give an excrement about him]. His striking out in violence will be found to be an act of PLEASE HELP ME I'M SICK, PLEASE CARE ABOUT ME, I'M LONELY. The insane part is that these individuals mostly use violence against other human beings in their sickness in calling out for help. They are sick, demented creatures that are indoctrinated daily by the violence, sexuality, liberalism that is produced by this Hollywood culture that believes that anything imaginable is allowed, that there are no limits, no boundaries, no laws, no constraints. This liberalism must be stopped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This manchild did not kill because he saw "The Matrix" or "Lord of the Rings" trilogies or a Clint Eastwood film. Tens of millions of us see movies and don't kill. Many of Shakespeare's plays were pretty violent, too, if I recall. When will my fellow conservatives stop making fools of themselves in peddling this anti-Hollywood meme?

Nick| 1.10.11 @ 2:14PM

Seek,

I agree with you, movies don't make people kill.

But, to deny that they influence people is just plain wrong.

Whether it is the slow erosion of societal norms over time, or more instantaneous effects, movies and music have had a tremendous influence on all of us.

For some examples of immediate effects: Did not millions of women (and some men) refuse to take showers in an empty house after they saw Psycho?

Did not millions of people refuse to go swimming in the ocean after Jaws came out, wreaking havoc on the tourist industry that summer?

Don't UFO sightings go through the roof whenever a movie like Close Encounters of the Third Kind is released?

Nick| 1.10.11 @ 2:15PM

Oops! I don't know why it did that.
The only word that should've been in bold was "make."

simon templar| 1.10.11 @ 2:53PM

When, Seek? When you stop pretending to be conservative, admit that you are a socialist troll, stop projecting, stop your hypocricy, and quit exploiting and manipulating crisis for political gain.

Aspentroll| 1.10.11 @ 4:14PM

Maybe he read the the bible and learned about all the violence portrayed there. The book is full of murder, rape, incest all the detestable things humans can do all in the name of an imaginary god. Get rid of the bible and maybe people will think clearly again.

Nick| 1.10.11 @ 5:02PM

This guy was an atheist, troll. He was just like you.

God loves, by the way.

Margie| 1.10.11 @ 6:22PM

"For God so loved the Atheist, that He gave His only begotten Son.." John 3:16.

Dear Mr. Atheist,

That verse above really say the word "world" but I took the liberty to insert your name there for now. I know God won't mind because I'm not really stealing His verse. I still give Him the credit.

You see, He died concerning the sins of the whole world~ and that HAS to include you.

I pray you get curious about that and check into it. Are you aware that there are myriads of Atheists who have, and have become some of the most staunch and on fire Christians in the world?
Yep. It's true.
He's got a plan for you and it's all for good.
But the Enemy of God has a plan for you too. One of his biggest tricks is to make you believe he doesn't exist. Then you don't have to fear Hell.
But Christians will tell you that you need to wake up because Hell exists and its waiting to claim your soul.
That's why the New Testament says to repent and be saved in the Name of Jesus because He died for the sin that takes us to Hell.
He actually overcame Sin by taking it on in His body on the cross when He was crucified.
It was the will of God.
He did it for YOU.
You owe Him.

kingsmill| 1.10.11 @ 7:22PM

Atheist regimes gave us the Gulag, the concentration camp, racialist genocide and so many other nice things....

Margie| 1.10.11 @ 7:32PM

Yes they did.
And the Communists used to imprison their own, too.
Under the torture of these Communist regimes Christians led many a Communist guard to Christ, and those would go on to infiltrate the higher ups as spies.
When the Atheist turns to Christ they become strong and dedicated Christians.
You see, the Atheist will openly say where he's at. He doesn't care and doesn't try to hide it.
This same honesty when applied and he honestly seeks the truth he cannot resist coming to Christ.
Honest Atheists make great converts, as does the murderer.
The Apostle Paul used to kill Christians and took part in the Martyrdom of Stephen. We all know the rest of the story!

With God, all things are possible.

(This post is directed at Atheists in general, murders are to be held accountable and the death penalty applied where it is law, no matter what their "belief system is").

Oldefarte| 1.11.11 @ 12:04PM

'fools of themselves'? The only fool is yourself, and no doubt a pretty stupid one at that. I'm referring to the numerous violence laced movies and video games produced by the money grubbing Hollywood whores-producers of same that ARE a direct influence on impressionable children who do not have the mental capacity to decern right from wrong. In my day, the cowboy movies contained gunfights/violence, but the cowboy-heroes always shot the gun out of the bad guy's hands, and took same to jail. Today, these movies/video games depict violence for explotive purposes and the captive viewing children are psychologically influenced detrimentally by same. DON'T BE A DUMBARS, MORON!!!!!!

Oldefarte| 1.12.11 @ 2:00PM

Your asinine opinion is not shared by all: '......CBN also reported that Graham is alarmed by the acceptance of “murder, violence, and rape as entertainment” in U.S. culture, as reflected in television, movies, and videogames......'

I hope this post by Quin Hillyer was tongue in cheek. He's normally a bright and spot-on guy. If he's serious, well...I'll chalk it up to frustration over his beloved Saints' tragic loss to the Seahawks on Saturday.

Quin| 1.10.11 @ 12:58PM

Seek: I hate having to explain sarcasm/satire, but yes, of course, this was tongue in cheek. The idea to is show just how incredibly idiotic is the Left's attempt to link this shooting to Tea Partiers, etc., by applying their own logic to the known facts of the case. I also am satirizing Rep. Brady of Pennsylvania and others who want to immediately criminalize actions or conditions that aren't in themselves criminal.
That's why the last word in my little post is "Not." It's about a decade-old, weak, line of humor: Say something in a deadpan way, then pause, and then say "not." As in: This is "not" how things are/should be.
Sorry

Clint| 1.10.11 @ 3:19PM

Will Quin "Go Postal" because The Saints were blown up by Jets?
Will there be an intervention?
Did Limbaugh cause The Packers to go crazy on The Eagles ?

Wrong Clint!
Clint Got Dem Jets on His Mind.

Will Quin "Go Postal" because The Saints were Pooped on by Seahawks ?

Will Clint/Timmy* "Go Postal" because The Iggles were grilled by the Cheeseheads?

Oops, too late, Clint/Timmy* went off the tracks long before this.

But you are not allowed to apply the Left's own logic to them.
That is just out of the question.
But while we're at it, I suggest we ban fire.
Sometimes fires are set by arsonists, but why hold them accountable?
No more fireplaces in homes.
The list goes on.

Oldefarte| 1.10.11 @ 12:58PM

I think [and suppose/guess] that his editorial is extremely serious, and that he is disguising his sadness/anger in IRONY!!!!

Ken (Old Texican)| 1.10.11 @ 2:07PM

Quin,
You might want to pursue this idea.
The communists, (Pardon the shorthand), just can't quite cram this story into their "narrative".

Still, they are desperately searching for a "event", and they WILL find it...somehow, it seems.

What they might NOT expect is an event beyond their control as outlined in my book that I sent you.
It looks as if the next year or so is going to be the crucible. The bad guys are being backed into a corner, domestically and internationally.

Thank you guys always for keeping our heads up and our "powder" dry.

Richard Baker| 1.10.11 @ 5:19PM

Aspentroll:
Yes, the failings of man are present in the Bible. The solutions for those failings are also present. Try reading the entire Bible instead picking and choosing. There is a coherent theme to the entire book, all you have to do is read. Unlike the constant refrain that money is the root of all Evil (even Henry Ford wrote that in one of his notebooks), the Bible says the LOVE of Money is the root of all Evil, as an example.

Scott | 1.10.11 @ 5:55PM

I blame Richard Dawkins.

And yes, that is not intended to be taken seriously.

Yeah, The Red Chinese Commie Atheists have killed 65 Million.

Godlessons | 1.11.11 @ 12:13PM

How about this, I'm an atheist and a conservative/libertarian. Those things don't often happen at the same time, but it gives me a bit of a different perspective that doesn't get expressed.

First of all, it's really hard to know what the politics of this guy are. There just isn't quite enough information yet. Given his reading list, it seems as though he may actually be a radical liberal, but it's still hard to say for sure. I have read Marx myself, but I am certainly not a communist.

What I am saying is that it certainly had nothing to do with whether or not the guy was an atheist, and it may have something to do with his political leanings, but the only thing that is certain as to the reason right now is that they guy was a nut bar. All the rest of this speculation and finger pointing only makes the rhetoric more divisive, and is not helpful in the least.

Margie| 1.11.11 @ 12:44PM

Hello Mr. Atheist,

I appreciate your honest thinking here, and I'd say that while it's true that being an Atheist alone doesn't make a person want to commit murder, it doesn't help when it comes to his reasoning ability when contemplating the consequences.

After all, if one believes that there is no God then there is no accountability.
If there is no Heaven or Hell he has no worries, and if he has no conscience he does whatever his little wicked heart desires.
Little does he know that after he dies he will wake up to God's judgment and will have to face eternity in Hell. That is of course, unless God grants him repentance before he dies, because once you're dead there are no more chances.

As it is written:

"And just as it is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment.." Heb. 9:27.

Different Religions lie to you and tell you otherwise but God's truth is written in the Bible.

And while it is true that political leanings may not necessarily contribute to criminal behavior, political beliefs certainly contribute to state of mind. Case in point~
Consider the Anarchist mindset.
Behavior stems from mindset.

Thanks for stopping by.
