The Left in our Crosshairs

At NRO, from Roger Kimball, highly respected published/editor of Encounter Books and The New Criterion:

Message to the world’s Krugmanites: Get used to it. We’re on the march, we’re targeting you, you’re in our crosshairs, and, no, this is not an incitement to “hate” or political divisiveness: It is what politics in a democracy is all about.

Yeah, what he said.

The point is that there is nothing, nothing at all, wrong with martial language in the context of politics. Anybody with a lick of sense understands that the language is metaphorical. And almost anybody in the mental condition of young Mr. Loughner needs no martial language from politicians to set him off.

Earlier today I posted a satirical blog entry blaming atheism for the shooting. Satirical, but also closer to the mark than Paul Krugman’s already infamous column was. The fact is that if one were to assume Mr. Loughner was in his right mind, medically (an obviously false assumption, of course), there is more in Mr. Loughner’s known record to tie him to the left than to the right. Atheism, heavy use of marijuana, flag burning, evil occultism…. the list goes on. I myself have no problem with saying that I enthusiastically will use any forum I have to put virulent atheism, heavy marijuana use, flag burning and evil occultism in my own crosshairs, targed for elimination and utter destruction. And I will not be silenced.

"And I will not be silenced". And neither will I.
Unless of course....

Quin,
Well said.

The problem with liberals is the only martial language they get comes from movies rather than actual military service.

This is why they want to fight a war on everything except Islamic radicalism.

There's a reason why they won't fight the Saracens. The Saracens fight back & they fight to win.

Democrat "operatives" are talking about how Obama needs and Oklahoma City incident and a Timmothy McVeigh to tarnish the right like Clinton did. Welll one of the main targets of the smear campaign was Rush Limbaugh. He didn't get kicked off the air and is doing quite well today. The other thing is that it is not the same as 15 years ago. The Media has widened and MSM reporters are more despised and recognized for bias. The news cycle is much faster. A person or an industry can lie, lie, and lie for a long time but eventually people start discounting or turning off. Back in Sept. 2010 Gallup reported that 53 % of the populace thought the MSM was biased, 33% thought they weren't and the remainder thought they were biased right. Given the results of the mid-terms 3 months later I think Gallup was optomistic.

Quin: Don't you know you can't say crosshairs, or bull's-eye, or target, or battleground, or take aim at, when referencing Democrats anymore (it's the new Law of the Land as of Saturday 08 Jan 2011)? So you better quit it, or else (and you do not want to know what "or else" means)!!

Umm, what?

Let me see, the White album set off Charles Manson, the Catcher in the Rye set off Mark David Chapman, Taxi Driver set off John Hinckley, and the guy that didn't get out of the fast lane on I-95 set me off. Crazy is just crazy, don't they get it? There's no understanding it!! No album, book, movie, bad driver, or word is to blame, it's the person who can't handle their own little world, life's pressures, or situation that is to blame. The Left and the MSM is acting like retards once again about this shooting (not that it comes as a shock to anybody), but they actually believe, that we believe what they're saying. We don't, we're calling B.S.!!

And Margie? I know it was you who wouldn't get out of the fast lane on I-95, I just know it!!

Margie| 1.10.11 @ 5:53PM

LLL's:
You crack me up.
And it couldn't have been me anyway. I drive a horse and buggy.

Lullabys, Legends and Lies| 1.10.11 @ 6:14PM

Did I ever say it "was" a car in the fast lane Margie? Nope!! Now you can understand why I was going so crazy that day, I ended up being five minutes behind schedule, which got me stuck in traffic on the George Washington Bridge for two hours.

Why is there an Amish buggy on I-95?
Beep!!
Why won't they get out of my way?
Beep!!
Did I just drive over horse sh*t?
Beep!! Beep!!
Did they make the horse do that on purpose?
Beep!! Beep!! Beep!!
Did they just flip me off? Are they allowed to do that? I thought they were supposed to be nice?

Margie| 1.10.11 @ 6:34PM

You'll just have to get up earlier, LLL's.
But I wasn't that Amish lady you saw. Oh, no siree. Mine was the one with the six white horses and cowgirl with the six-shooters whipping my horses in gear trying to get that traffic moving. My horses were magnificent as usual. Sorry you were delayed that poky puppy, better luck next time, pal!

Good one LLL /Margie

On a serious note, Bob Grant notwithstanding, it is interesting tht the entire Left, (pardon the shorthand), put Sarah Palin in their cross-hairs.

...Well, she and the tea party she personifies.

For months now, Rush has quietly rooted for Sarah....has pointed out that she is the ONE of us that the Democrat/Communists, (pardon the shorthand), hate and fear the most.

Once again, Rush has proven to be right.

Palin haters then must fall into two groups:
One: A pretty and athletic girl like her turned them down for the Senior prom.

Two: her straight from the shoulder righteousness scares the dickens out of them.

Margie| 1.10.11 @ 6:50PM

Ken,

It is sad that the innocent are blamed for the sins of the unrighteous. It will always be the case till He returns. They will seek to destroy her so that her righteous and God fearing voice will be silenced, just like the crowd cried out to crucify Christ when they knew He was innocent.
Let anybody who wants to jump on me and tell me I'm mentally ill for saying that~ feel free, but it is the truth. I'm talking about the same spirit that lives in the haters of today.
Sarah speaks God's Truth and His words.
That is the REAL reason the world hates her. The world of course meaning the Biblical definition.. of those in darkness.
May she continue to rise up and may we continue to hold her up through our prayers and the Grace of God. And if it's His will that she becomes President~ they can't stop it!

Ken (Old Texican)| 1.10.11 @ 7:31PM

Margie,
One note. I have done business all around the world...with a lot of different cultures' bosses.

As weird as they were, they all liked doing business with me...In their words... "Ken's too stupid to cheat or steal."

What a wonderful if backhanded compliment.
I told my Chinese Chairman/owner one day in reply: "Mr. Loh, I'm not too "stupid" to steal. I would rather count on excellence to excell."

His reply? "Same thing, Ken."

Margie| 1.10.11 @ 7:38PM

I like that.. and I get it. Thanks.

StanB| 1.11.11 @ 1:05AM

I see you hit the nail on the head Ken, I couldn't agree with you and Rushbo, but if you look at the OLD Repub Guard they don't want Sarah because they are just as afraid of her as the left libs are, they know she will take names and kick butt's out, I don't see at this time that they will give her the nod, unless the tea party gets busy riding the backs of the Repubs..I know she will beat the pants off of OBUMMAO, or any other left wing LIB that they run..I'm praying to my savior, to pls let her be the one...

Mike Haubrich| 1.17.11 @ 9:26AM

Is it a requirement of conservatism to be completely obtuse? Sister Sarah has shown no interest in actual policy, shown no interest in learning about how the country actually works, drinks her martyrdom like I drink my water and ghost-writes books empty of content. There is no "there" there inside Sarah Palin. Which may be why conservatives love this quitter so much.

Liberals are not "afraid" of her. We think she deliberately plays up her ignorance and makes a good show, and conservatives have bought this freak show.

She has no interest in running for Preznit. It's too much gosh-darned work to actually run an executive office. And you have to know things.

No, she would rather collect money as a figurehead.

PCC| 1.10.11 @ 6:54PM

I only read Paul Krugman and Maureen Dowd for the laughs.

Skippy| 1.10.11 @ 7:42PM

Has MoDo commented yet?
I was wondering what the Hungover Bitter Old Maid demographic had to say about this tragedy.
It's a formidable Democrat voting bloc!

Clint| 1.10.11 @ 7:55PM

I once shot a man in Tucson, just to watch him die.

However, that was before The Tea Party was formed.

*****Red alert to all on this site.*****

I implore you to go to the following link. It was publicized on Sean Hannity's show. It's a bullseye map put out by the Democratic Leadership Council in 2004. Copy it and get it out there. Put it on facebook or any place you can possibly post links.
