Sometimes I just don't get it...people are incredibly stupid. As a New Mexican, I grew up hearing hundreds of stories of Billy the Kid. I live a block away from a cemetery in Torrance County that is rumored to be his real resting place. The entire county of Lincoln, New Mexico is rife with the history, sightings, rumors of Billy for the enjoyment of the tourist. If he was pardoned then he would no longer be an outlaw and where is the fun in that. You can't have it both ways. What will the tourist sites say, "Here is where pardoned ex-outlaw Billy the Kid murdered a man?"
