Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu is demanding
that Israel apologize and compensate Turkey for the IDF “raid” on
the Mavi Marmara last May.
The IDF, of course, responded only after being attacked while
boarding the ship in enforcement of a naval blockade of Gaza.
Nine Turks were killed. While Palestinian apologists tried to
portray it as a humanitarian mission
there was sure an awful lot of weaponry on board.
Davutoglu has a lot of chutzpah in demanding an apology and
compensation given that it was the Turkish government that
deliberately provoked this confrontation or
at the very minimum did nothing to prevent it. If
anything it is Turkey that owes Israel an apology and
compensation.

Well, I shouldn't wonder that an Israeli Jew or Israel-first Jew is defending the IDF's piracy on the high seas, its crime in international waters, and its murder of humanitarians. It's not as if this is the first time.
And the unmitigating gall---the chutzpah---is yours, Goldstein. How outrageous it is for the murderers to demand an apology from their victims.
Of course not uncharacteristic of right-wing scum.
The next thing you will be doing is siding with the extreme left in condemning the Turks for the so-called Armenian genocide. Or were you careful not to be a strange bedfellow in that regard?
Israel IsReal| 12.25.10 @ 7:17PM
Shut the fuck up, filthy turkish shitball. You have pig shit for brains and it shows. Leave the jews alone before they make fertilizer with your curly pubic hair. We needed that: a turkish troll for Christmas !
Alan Brooks| 12.25.10 @ 7:20PM
fucking jurkish terks! You're right bro, they're stinky and slimy. You couldn't tell them from arabs. Same shitty religion and same looks.
mavigozler | 12.26.10 @ 12:58AM
"...your curly pubic hair."
I am definitely not surprised to see a knuckle-dragging critic of those whose shoes he should be shining making a reference like that.
Hey Spectator: do you really want to be attracting the likes of this scum and the poster assuming the identity of a twat named "Alan Brooks"?
Indeed what difference is there between the Spectator gathering around it vandals and thugs who frequently congregate here, speaking the expletive-laced language they typically speak, and Hitler holding forth at the tavern, gathering around himself the drunken filth who are his SS camp guard recruits? Is this the reputation you want for Spectator? Truly?
Barack Obama: every KKK-loving, Spectator-reading, hate-filled bastard's nightmare. Hey at least he knows who his daddy is, unlike have the Spectator subscribers.
Occam's Tool| 12.26.10 @ 3:25PM
Barry's daddy abandoned him, and his mom left him to be raised by grandparents. Yeah, I guess he knew who his daddy was, but he didn't know him.
Alan Brooks| 12.26.10 @ 3:44PM
Yeah, Barry never knew His parents but He is 100% sure He was born in Hawai, although He never went to the hospital where His birth is supposed to have taken place and He doesn't know the names of the doctors and the nurses who were present at His birth. And we elected Him, whereas His kenyan grand mother, not realizing the significance of her statement, claimed to have been the first to witness His birth in Istambul er... in Kenya.
Alan Brooks| 12.26.10 @ 3:48PM
mazeltovguzzler, your Barry is so eager to sodomize us Americans, He has to be a turk.
Which is after all the contraction of "turd" and "jerk".But what else is new?
matthew s harrison| 12.26.10 @ 8:24PM
Mavigozler-I was going to ignore you-but until you said that Spectator readers were KKK....you just proved you are the run of the mill lefty idiot who doesn't know US history.
1) the KKK was formed to intimidate/kill REPUBLICANS and BLACKS-by, wait for it, THE DEMOCRATS!
Listen retard-go back to huffpo. No one wants to even hear from you, which is why you got the response you did. Obviously you get your news from brian williams and arianna huffington-or you would know that the boat the Israelis boarded was filled with weapons, and a bunch of guys who's plan it was to provoke a response from the Israelis-and having seen the videos, the Israelis showed great restraint. They should have sunk the boat with all on board.
Lest we not all forget-the Israelis send millions in aid into gaza every month. And having seen the latest expose on how the palestinians live, they are spending the Jews' money well on shopping malls, nice restaurants, and nightclubs.
Lastly-Turkey is becoming the Caliphate it once was, and the "re-rising" of the Ottoman Empire will mean certain death for many Christians and Jews living in Turkey, and will mean the stoning, raping and beating of even more women than already meet that fate in Turkey.
If you like the middle east and islamofascists so much-then move there dirtbag!
Otherwise, STFU, because you know obviously zero about US or world history for that matter.
sjalsevac| 12.26.10 @ 12:46PM
Where is the moderator. These kinds of vulgar, gutter level diatribes bring American Spectator down to a very low level. They should be deleted.
Alan Brooks| 12.26.10 @ 3:36PM
Sjalsevac, the presence of a turk already brings AS to a dangerously low level. What can be done?
Bob Miller| 12.27.10 @ 8:50AM
Someone who denies the Turkish genocide of the Armenians, a historical fact, is as low as they go.
David W| 12.25.10 @ 5:44PM
Here is a non-Jew who supports Israel's position. The IDF gave the ship every opportunity (like it did for the other ships in the flotilla) to go to port and have the humanitarian contents forwarded to Gaza. The other ships did. This ship refused to do so. When boarded, those boarding were attacked by the so-called humanitarians on board - I believe there is sufficient evidence for my position (though the link in the article doesn't go to the expected site - probably hacked).
I'm sure that you are supportive of Hamas and their minions firing rockets indiscriminately into Israel. I'm sure you are against Israel trying to defend itself from those who continue to deny the right of Israel to exist and teaches it children to hate and kill. The blockade is an attempt to protect their citizens from Hamas trying to smuggle in weapons and explosives to be used to murder innocent civilians (unless you think that any Israel, including the old and very young, to be acceptable targets).
I think the chutzpah is all yours.
Aaron Goldstein| 12.25.10 @ 9:53PM

Alan Brooks| 12.26.10 @ 1:28PM
Sorry Sir, I'm Alan Brooks, I'm a Jew and I'm gay. I've been posting on TAS for quite a while and I usually don't use this kind of profanities even with the rednecks that pollute this site, but I have no patience with turks, turkey, turkish behavior and islam and I get somthing close to an orgasm when I insult a muslim criminal.
Alan Brooks| 12.25.10 @ 7:28PM
mavigozler, what kind of dumb turkish shitname is this?! You want an apology from Israel? Kiss my ass, mustafa! ahahahah!
Why didn't you invade us, assholes? Because you're afraid of your Iranian naughty brother, that's why! And you wish Israel would get rid of the annoying nuke toting jerk who sponsors kurdish terrorism, right? No way, mustafa! Deal with your problems and we'll take care of ours.
Alan Brooks| 12.25.10 @ 7:34PM
Hey mustafa! Bad times for turkey, the appropriately named shithole of the world: seems like even tiny Austria doesn't respect you too much, watch this, it's so funny. Fucking turkish goat molesters!

First let me say "Merry Christmas" to he or she that posts as "Alan Brooks". I would like to extend my thanks to you personally for steering the editoral staff at Amspec to re-think their posting rules and reg's. With your continued profane displays of stupidity, (on Christmas of all days) I think it just might be enough for someone to see the light and make us log on to post here.
Occam's Tool| 12.26.10 @ 3:23PM
I'm sorry, sir, but I have to give my e-mail each time I log on.
Larry| 12.26.10 @ 2:08AM
Yes, this thread is nothing but disturbing. No one is watching what they are saying right now. I hate to see intelligent posts marred by senseless and vulgar comments like some of the ones I read above.
If this is what passes for "debate" on the subject of Israel right now, I can see why the tension has increased in the last few days in the Middle East. And I don't think Israel should apologize at all, either.
mavigozler | 12.26.10 @ 3:26AM
"And I don't think Israel should apologize at all, either."
Israel should ABSOLUTELY apologize! And more!!
The actions of the IDF were a CRIMINAL overreach of what should have been done. They murdered an American among the Turks as well.
THINK! The passengers had no weapons or they would have surely used them, especially against the commando pirates. After all, why wait to let Palestinians to use them weapons against their oppressors when, if the passengers were on a mission to arm them, why not use them immediately?
It's unbelievable as to how gullible and stupid the right-wing readership of American Spectator truly is!
Israel has decided to take a hardline right-wing tack by putting up the Muslim-hating, anti-Arab terrorist Netanyahu as head of the government! Even he is not terrorist enough: he has ministers surrounding him who are ready for genocide and other "ethnic cleansing" activities in order to implement the "final solution" for all non-Jewish individuals inside Israel and the Occupied Territories. "Settlement building" is just another euphemism for ethnic cleansing.
And all of you supporting Israel in this cause are criminals against the peace and criminals against humanity!
Occam's Tool| 12.26.10 @ 1:52PM
The Israelis should have warned and then destroyed. That was their mistake. The scum on that ship were not worth risking Israeli citizens' lives.
Occam's Tool| 12.26.10 @ 3:22PM
Mavigozler---please be on the next ship. Please, please!
martin j smith| 12.26.10 @ 8:33AM
Who is mavigozler. The political connections. Getting paid to monitor the web. Even if you are what you seem to be--a flaming JEW HATING HOMO SAPIEN--In my humble oppinion there is abolutely no use in responding to this guys trash.
As for Turkey-That nations government is composed of largely Jew Haters as is true of this poster. So thats it.
Mavigozler go back to the solar system you are on way beyond the Milky Way. You are a star In Star Drek !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratualtions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Samuel| 12.26.10 @ 12:51PM
An apology? Just like the trolls above said, you may kiss it now.
An apology... I can't believe I just read that.
Samuel| 12.26.10 @ 1:04PM
oops wrong move with the enter key! We do not owe Turkey anything and Turkey should be thankful not to have suffered some ugly domestic incident in retaliation for your criminal provocation. Do you realize some Israeli could have been killed? Think about it before claiming to care about the fate of a few parasites.
Samuel| 12.26.10 @ 1:14PM
quote: "They murdered an American among the Turks as well."
The thug had a US passport and a turkish name, therefore he was no American. To claim otherwise would be like having a US president with a turkish middlename. Wait a minute...
And what about the 2 tons of military weapons found hidden in a fake tank in the engine compartment? Was that humanitarian aid?
Muslims are compusive liars because they do not deal with reason but with wishful thinking. It is a short cut from allah land to la la land.
OLDRAY| 12.26.10 @ 4:34PM
The Turks slaughtered the Armenians (no appology then or since). The Turks persecute their Kurdish monority (no appology there). The Kurds obstructed our war in Iraq (no appology to the USA) . The Turks provoked the "Flotilla" attack on Israel..The Israelis would be fools to appologize to their attackers.
OLDRAY| 12.26.10 @ 4:38PM
Sorry,,error on line three. It was (of Course) the Turks NOT the Kurds who obstructed us in our war in Iraq.
Anthony| 12.26.10 @ 6:47PM
Of course Israel, a country constantly under threat of terrorist attacks, has the right to board a ship that enters its waters. It is unfortunate that lives were lost, but if individuals are going to put themselves in harms way, that's the risk they take.
martin j smith| 12.27.10 @ 8:26AM
In my view the definition of Anti_semitism ( Meaning Hatred of Jews ) shoul include the following: Those individuals, companies,Institutions, and Nations that persistently criticize the State of Israel and show little or no understanding of how and why the State of Israel is important for the survival of the Jewish people. Examples of such failures and perpetrators are: Helen Thomas ( an indivudal wh also represents the Press in some rather disfigured manner ) The United Nations ( an institution which has shown by behavior of various organs behavior that fits this expanded definition ), the Presbyterian Church Leadership and other Universities who an institutions dis invest in the State of Israel then there is NPR and PBS who always in their so called news and "magazines" show the same antipathy for israel and of course the NYT,WaPo. This is my personal oppinion of course but having been an observer of how these types of groups ( and I do not want any Left groups to feel badly that I did not mention them, please be assured you probably are in it as well ) Its time to face the fact that the question is not criticism of of Israel is not really the issue--it is motive.
Anthony| 12.27.10 @ 9:32AM
I have to respectfully disagree with Mr. Smith's opinion on one being anti-Israel automatically being anti-semitic. It is quite possible to disagree with Israeli actions and not be an anti-semite. I personally consider Israel to be a great friend and ally of the US but I don't support its policy of employing spies like Pollard against the US. I think the recent invasion of Lebanon was a disaster and the abandonement of the southern Lebanese Christians was downright criminal. I will admit, however, that some of the anti-Israel crowd are indeed anti-semites but there's always been bigots and always will be so they're not very important.
Publius| 12.27.10 @ 8:30AM
When you're guilty of outrageous crimes, the best defense is to make counteraccusations.
The proper response is to laugh at Turkey and tell them the next time they send an arms carrier to the Palestinians, it will be sunk. The bill for the resulting rescue effort will be sent to Turkey.
Richard Baker| 12.27.10 @ 11:52AM
The Turks should want in one hand and spit in the other and see which gets filled first.
