Bob Corker is DOA in the TN primary next year
.I will fund any opponent to this traitor .
Mitch MCconnell should resign after this disasterous lame duck session in the senate .
He is useless K street scum.

Why is it you think the Russians are fools? They are authoritarians, and Russia is a worse place to live than in the West; however they can't risk enabling the West to build an ABM shield and perhaps (a remote possibility, but a possibility nonetheless) someday attacking them. So they use whatever leverage they have.
As for a Chinese ABM shield, that opens up a whole 'nother can of worms.
Frightening.

Zbigniew Mazurak | 12.22.10 @ 5:41AM

There's no way 10 unarmed interceptors could threaten Russia or undermine Russia's nuclear arsenal. Likewise, there's no way a large number of theater BMD systems could undermine it, because Russia has 17,000 tactical nukes and the means to deliver them (including 177 Tu-22M bombers, over 200 Su-24/Su-25 aircraft, and scores of Iskander TBMs, plus 10 Oscar class SSGNs, 8 of which are armed with nuclear-tipped cruise missiles, and 24 SSNs, each of which can be armed with nuclear-tipped missiles and torpedoes. By the way, one of such Russian SSNs armed with some tactical nukes sank during the Cold War, in the Barents Sea IIRC, and the wreckage (along with nuclear warheads) is still at the sea's bottom. Unfortunately, the New STrategic Arms Reduction Treaty does not pertain to tactical nuclear weapons at all.

I'd bet he's shaking in his boots from you two-bit threat.

Steve| 12.22.10 @ 12:46PM

David, make that a 4-bit threat; wait just heard from a co-worker, 6-bits; oops 8-bit, wait no, 10-bit - sorry must sign off, can't keep up. Some things are not threats - just promises.

The TN Tea Party is already looking at candidates to run against Bailout Bob and Sweetness Lamar. They both are tone deaf and need to come home. Bailout Bob seems not to be worried about any challengers but I got news for him...HE BETTER! The call has already gone out to bring on the new candidates.

I personally like to see Ron Ramsey come out and take Bailout Bob to the cleansers. Ron has got a huge Tea Party following and should be able to raise the funds needed to run. I personally didn't vote for Bob. My guy was Ed Bryant, who I thought would have done a much better job but with Corker, Bryant and Van Hillary in that race it was Corker's money that got him elected. Trust me, it wouldn't help this time.

Don't be surprise to see Congressman Marsha Blackburn's name to start popping up. She would be a good one to run against Sweetness or Bailout Bob. She could win either one in a cake walk. It's her's for the asking.

Kenneth E.MacAlister Jr. | 12.21.10 @ 4:51PM

The usual RINO suspects in The Stupid Party stick it to America yet again. Time for a new conservatives only Party. Leave The Stupid Party to the RINOs. No more money, no more support, & no more votes for The Stupid Party. Period.

Occam's Tool| 12.21.10 @ 5:12PM

The culprits:

Sens: Lamar Alexander, Bob Bennett, Scott Brown, Thad Cochran, Susan Collins, Bob Corker, Johnny Isakson, Dick Lugar, Lisa Murkowski, Olympia Snowe and George Voinovich.

Rino, Ejected Rino, Corker I don't know, nor Isakson, but they get NO donations, Rino, scumbag sore loser Rino, Scumbag east coast Rino terrorist sympathiser, thankfully leaving Rino.

About what we expect. What a group of vermin.

Occam's Tool| 12.21.10 @ 5:15PM

Sorry, missed Scott Brown: Naked posing male slut Rino, and Thad Cochran---isn't he from Mississippi? (WTF) and Susan Collins---see Olympia Snowe. Scumbag. East Coast. (Redundancy) Rino.

Beboper| 12.21.10 @ 5:52PM

RINOS Collins and Snowe are the two Maine witches who wear the republican mask. We knew RINO Murkowski has no business claiming she's a Republican since she was ousted in the primary but Brown is the real buffoon. There was an awful lot of Tea Party money that propelled him into his seat that won't be there for his reelection now. How much do you think he'll get from the left for brown nosing with the dems? For that matter, how many MA republicans will be enthused to vote for him?

Bennett and Voinovich are simply giving the GOP the middle finger on the way out - good riddence.

Kyle| 12.21.10 @ 6:20PM

The GOP has 3 Nancy Pelosi's (Murkowski, Snowe, and Collins)

Beboper| 12.22.10 @ 7:10AM

Such a case could be made.

Pelosi is an amoral, power mad, committed fascist. She's the type of arrogant tyrant that will concede nothing until defeated.

Murkowski, Snowe, and Collins have long since learned to use the GOP's better credentialed morality for their lack of such. Their most outstanding characteristic is their absolute absence of honor or any respectable sense of decency. Self aggrandizement is their only cause, everything else be dammed.

It's a common screening tactic used by the slimier RINOS in general: eg Specter for one, Bloomberg for another, and Schwartzenegger perhaps to a lesser extent.

No decent person uses the democrat party for the same purpose - none are allowed to. Party discipline is severely maintained. Not so in the GOP. Murkowski lost nothing in doing an end around the republican party, and as in the START and DREAM, she's free to cut it up and destroy party unity as she chooses.

And she's going to be there for the next six years.

Chuck| 12.21.10 @ 5:38PM

I'm amazed not that the GOP caves but by the response...SHOCKED! SHOCKED! Remenber conservative/tea party dupes the Republicans gave us 5/7 of Roe v. Wade. Next up Mitt Romney's nomination, don't be so shocked this time.

WL| 12.22.10 @ 12:37AM

Yep Chuck...You hit the nail on the head!

Whooooda Thunk IT???

I am becoming more and more convinced that the Repubs are just the bad cop...and no matter how many we elect...

The dems and the bamster will aways get just enough of them...

Same old song...

Folks...If you think we have a chance at turning this ship around...THINK AGAIN

While I always have an outside hope for some good things....

We are doomed...

Your stupid parents, and your stupid selves (those who haven't paid attention until the Dem RESULTS starting showing up) did it.

It's all done but the crying...

You won't recognize the USA in 5 years max.

It's already changed...but you'll SEE IT by then if you look a little closer.

Just sit back watch a little TV and wait for em to come a'knockin on your chamber door...

RAP TAP TAPPING AT YOUR CHAMBER DOOR.

Easy Sell| 12.21.10 @ 5:49PM

There's not two easier votes to buy than Corker and Alexander. Offer them some dollars for their donor base, they'll line up where they need to.

The media in Tennessee is owned statewide so on an issue like this, you'll never hear about this vote. There is no pain or suffering for Corker or Alexander--no cost to selling out.

Simply put: Obama and company know Corker & Alexander are suckers for pork. Tucked in the bill is modernization cash for one of the Oak Ridge plants. Does the plant need modernizing? That's a matter of debate. But as part of this bill? No.

It's very difficult for me to have any tolerance for the Republicans in our Senate when they have given Lamar Alexander a leadership position again.

Zbigniew Mazurak| 12.22.10 @ 5:36AM

Oh yeah? But that means that Mitch McConnell and John Boehner could also offer Corker and Alexander something, e.g. some pork projects or a larger TVA budget for FY2012.

William R| 12.21.10 @ 5:50PM

Good for them. There is a wing in the GOP that hasn't been happy since the cold war ended in the late 80s early 90s.

Mikecampbelly2k| 12.21.10 @ 5:52PM

I REPEAT: We must get rid of the Maine RINOs - Snowe and Collins. Aggressive primary opponents must be found NOW. I don't believe an intelligent, appealing, well-funded CONSERVATIVE can't win the primary and general elections in Maine! Stay on message, hammer socialism and the squishy pair of RINO queens, and money from conservatives and their organizations can equal victory! How sweet it will be to rid the Senate of Snowe and Collins!

WendyG| 12.21.10 @ 6:05PM

Make huge gains in the mid-terms, capitulate to the Democrats in the lame duck Congress. Appalling.

“When it’s all going to be said and done, Harry Reid has eaten our lunch,” Graham said on Fox News radio. “This has been a capitulation in two weeks of dramatic proportions of policies that wouldn’t have passed in the new Congress.”

If Reid Ate the GOPS Lunch Graham And Company Packed It For Him
http://www.spartanburgteaparty.....t-for-him/

KDW| 12.21.10 @ 6:42PM

Harry Reid didn't eat anyones lunch. Republicans
were in absolutely no political danger in opposing
the Reid agenda. The RINOS who threw their
support to the Democrats did so BECAUSE THEY
WANTED TO! That is the depressing thing. It
won't be long before we find out what the RINO's
votes cost us (the taxpayers).

On a side note, how does this vote help Scott
Brown get re-elected? Where does his campaign
cash come from in 2012 (certainly not Tea-Party
conservatives)?

You really don't need to be very bright to be a
U.S. Senator.

gibbs| 12.22.10 @ 10:59AM

That's for sure. Nor apparently do you need to be very bright to be part of the electorate which more than likely will re-elect the teleprompter in '12.

I'm also amazed that anyone actually expected anything more from the (R) gutless wonders. The House may have changed in November but nothing else in the (R) party did, or will in our lifetimes.

Curly Smith| 12.21.10 @ 7:35PM

Conservatives made huge gains but the GOP is still controlled by the RINO minority and that won't change until the "lesser of two evils" crowd learns that taking the expedient short-term choice often prevents you from reaching your long-term goal. It's fine to elect a RINO if you immediately start canvassing for a Conservative to run in the next primary but it's futile if you expect the RINO to be anything but a Democrat.

PCP Smoker| 12.21.10 @ 6:54PM

Congratulation to the Russians in their easy fought win. It's time to shutdown SDI. It's time for the nuclear umbrella to disappear from Western and Eastern Europe and Japan.

Miss that GWB yet?

Zbigniew Mazurak | 12.22.10 @ 5:34AM

No, because he appeased the Russians too (he said Vlad Putin was a good man, even after Putin ordered the assassination of Litvinenko), dramatically reduced the US nuclear arsenal (by his own admission), and appointed Bob Gates, the worst defense secretary America has ever had (other than Louis Johnson, who tried to abolish the USN and the USMC altogether; but even Johnson recognized the need for nukes and recognized Moscow as America's enemy).

Steve in Pittsburgh| 12.21.10 @ 7:48PM

A future repub prez can and hopefully will backtrack.

In the meantime, oust the RINOs.

Dean from Ohio| 12.21.10 @ 9:21PM

It took a while, but the Southern Baptist conservatives regained control of the denomination from the liberals and CINOs (conservatives in name only). They believe and live by the Bible, their ultimate constitution. And they made Jimmy Carter hopping mad. That alone almost would be worth it.

We can do it--regain control of the Republican Party from the blue bloods, RINOs, sissies and cowards. Throw them out at every chance you get. Maybe Barbara Bush will be our Jimmy Carter.

Jimmy Joe| 12.22.10 @ 11:54AM

I agree about barbara bush.As Well George H.W.Bush,Mr. New World Order. But the real Jimmy Carter republican Is Mike Huckabee. He's stated government was about comprimising with liberals not standing by their oath to the U.S.Constitution,He said that Tea Party,Rush Limbaugh,Mike Pence,Jim Demint,Sarah Palin,Ann Coulter,And Mark Levin Conservatives Are extremist. In the same breath he said bill clinton, and barack obama are the greatest minds of our time.Ann Coulter pointed out what a liberal suck-up he is.Mike Huckabee is jimmy carter in gop drag.

Martin j smith| 12.22.10 @ 8:11AM

I agree with those who want to politically targe RINOS for primaries and to get rid of. These folks are Democrat Socialists and have nothing to do with the voters who oppose Obama and the Socialist democrat Party. The trick will be two things. First find an effective primary candidate and win and then be effective in defeating the Dzzzzzzzzzzzzz This will be trick in the very Blue North East. Buts worth a shot anyway. The important thing is to find savvy and articulate spokespeople who are very smart about handling the Media. This is crucial to win in general.

Mimi| 12.22.10 @ 8:27AM

Any Republican who votes for this treaty, in a lame-duck session....when the American People have so many doubts about the Russian motives, will undermine our ability to defend this Nation..etc. Will have LOST the TRUST...The thing of most VALUE to any politician. Whoa be to them if any harm comes to this NATION due to theirlack of correct judgement and eagerness to please an impatient DEMOCRAT Party whom the people have proven by their VOTE they do not have trust and FAITH in!!!

martin j smith| 12.22.10 @ 10:35AM

treaties are only as good as the people making them. Recall the Hitler Stalin Pact of 1939. Now we have an Obama Putin Pact. I believe treaties are made to be broken--as are laws. but even more so with treaties. There ought to be many investigations by the "Republican -Tea Party Controlled House. Among the issues would be "arms controll" and our own security in that regard.

Equally important: This new session will be a political war ( speaking for myself ) I have not seen in my adult lifetime. Tea Party folk will be yelling at RINOS and Dzzzzzzzzz Socialists. It will be interesting to watch. The main thing though is "hold your ground" and "go to the voters".
By the way I hear Rep Peter King will be holding hearings related to Islamic Organizations not cooperating with US authorities on terror investigations. That ought to be a hoot and a half as well. But extremely seriously, the MSM ,RINOS and the SOCIALISTS will show they are all in it together against US.

bill glass| 12.22.10 @ 11:32AM

Yeah, I'm about 95% done with the repubs, and get more disillusioned every day, as there seems to be no way to correct their misguidedness and corruption. Real conservatives need to step up and primary these weasels. I figured Scott Brown would disappoint on a grand scale, but some of these other repub creepos need to be exposed to the bright sunlight and forcibly retired.

Jimmy Joe| 12.22.10 @ 11:33AM

Everyone Can Thank Karl Rove,George H.W.Bush,And Mike Huck-A-Bee type Liberal Suck-up New World Order Republicans. For Dis-Arming Our National Security,Prostituting Our Military,National Defense,And Destroying The Constitution,In favor of The United Nations of Dictators.Remember the same majority of liberals want To build A shrine to the 9/11 hijackers in new york,And have been accusing our military of war crimes for over A decade. And we are supposed to believe the same traitors give A damn about our sacrificual lambs now in their last week in power.HA;And these liberals in gop drag need to be removed better to deal with the devil you know then these sell-out back stabbing Judas Iscariots.

Yosemeti Sam| 12.22.10 @ 12:06PM

I'll bet those republicans who will ostensibly vote for this 'treaty' - were assured our military has an ACE in the hole: ray guns!

LOL.

Dean| 12.22.10 @ 1:38PM

If Russia didn't have a large military, they would be irrelevant. Their population is half that of the United States, and their GDP is less than 10 percent of ours. Russia exports raw materials, oil and gas, and military hardware. About the only Russian items you might see in an American store are cavier and vodka.
Russia is a dying nation. Their birth rate is very low, and by mid-century their population will be about half of what it is now. They hold the dubious honor of being the only industrialized nation in which life expectancy has actually declined. It is roughly 65 years, compared with 76 in the United States.
Russia can do very little good in the world, but they can cause considerable mischief. Russia has aided and abetted Iran's nuclear weapon program, and is egging on North Korea in their misbehavior.
