DADT Repeal Advances

The Senate just invoked cloture on the “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” repeal, by a 63 to 33 vote, clearing the way for final passage.

It’s hard to imagine liberals mounting a primary challenge against a president who brought them national health care and repealed “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”

UPDATE: The vote on final passage was 65 to 31.

Liberals who have never served in the military will lecture us that the debate is over, because they've won. Wait and see. This time, you've finally bitten off a whole lot more than you can chew.

Next up: the law of unintended consequences.

If passed, this repeal will representate the......BEGINNING OF THE END OF OUR VOLUNTARY MILITARY!!!!!!!!

Prediction: Within months of this insanity being passed, there will be several federal law suits filed to force the military to recognize "gay marriages" performed in various People's Republics that pose as states.

That is the principle reason for the repeal anyway.

The next law suit, will be filed to force the feds to recognize "gay marriage" (force it and enforce it as the law of the land) across all 50 states... because the military does.

Again, the reason this was done in the first place.

Gays don't care about much of anything else but their own sexual pleasure. Most certainly don't care about marriage, family, and tolerance (They are the most intolerant bunch I have ever encountered in my life on this planet...)

But what this means to the nation and the military? Who knows? Only 2-3% of the population is homosexual. It only takes one individual to make an unwanted and inappropriate sexual advance to destroy a unit; But then it only takes one individual who has a sexually transmitted fatal virus to spread it to millions.

All of this is because the Federal Judiciary has overstepped its jurisdiction with no one at the top with the courage enough to say NO.

"Cravenness in all things" seems to be the new motto.

Not a good day for the society. Moral decay at all costs, wot?

Sad day for our military and thus for our country. They are also getting the smallest increase in income since 1962 while the congress throws money around like water. This will lead to a draft and all the litigation mentioned in comment above. This has nothing to do with civil rights, but another move by those whose life is driven around their gravely disordered lives.

This repeal will open the door for "Trans Gendered" soldiers. What barracks will they be assigned? Also, what about the partially trans gendered? Women who have had their breast removed and take hormones to be male but still have female genitial? Or men who take hormones and have breast implants but still have male genitial? Keep in mind that poor hormone maintenance dictates that when the artificial hormones wear off the previous chacracteristics return. Where will these creatures shower?

Will female solders stay in the same barracks as "Chaz Bono"? Or would he/she shower with the men? I don't believe Chaz has the full male toolset. He/she could claim discrimination. This will eventually end up at the supreme court.
Messy! And it gets worse.
What happens when a gay soldier brings his partner / wife to live with him on base in a government supported house and their adopted kid. The military community is about to be tested.

Messy! And it gets worse. God help the soidier captured in battle who the enemy suspects is gay. The torture and indignities are to numerous and graphic to mention. There’s just no polite way to even describe that person’s fate. And he might not even be gay.
The opposition leadership will undoudtedly paint US forces with a broad brush hoping to rev up “jihad conviction” that we are devils against god lacking all worth or consideration.
As a stop measure the Military should create an all gay or all homo unit like what was done in the early days of military racial intergration. This way the gay unit’s operational and battle field effectiveness could be measured against the regular units. Let them earn the respect of the military leadership via outstanding performance and code of conduct.
A captured hetero soldier might be able to escape horrible torture by simply making it known that he is not part of a gay unit.
