Once mocked as angry racist mobs and “Astroturf,” the tea
parties made their presence known in last month’s midterm
elections. Tonight, they claimed their first genuine legislative
victory when Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid pulled the $1.2
trillion omnibus bill with thousands of earmarks, conceding he
didn’t have the votes to pass it. The reason he didn’t have the
votes to pass it was was no doubt a result of the pressure put on
Republicans by tea party activists who have made it politically
untenable to be associated with massive government spending and
special favors. Sen. John McCain took to the floor and called this
a “seminal moment.” I would say that it could be, but that largely
depends on how Republicans behave going forward. Democrats made
Republicans jobs a lot easier this week by providing them with such
a massive target so soon after an election in which voters rejected
out of control spending. But the truer test will be if Republicans
can show the same sort of fortitude on matters that aren’t so easy
— especially when it comes to entitlement spending, which is a
much greater threat to the nation’s fiscal health than earmark
spending. So, this is something worth celebrating — but only as
much as a first down early in the season. There’s still a long road
ahead for those who want to rein in government.

There may be another way to do it.

If you mean there is another way to skin the cat you can bet Reid and others will be trying.

So much accomplished, yet so much more to do. Next, need to get rid of the RINO's and get a real Commander-in-Chief.

Boycott Harrah's , now known as Caesar's Entertainment. They gave us the re-election of Harry Reid. They wanted him.

Boycott ALL of Vegas. It is a den of thieves, run by the mob....

Here, here! Spread the word and make them feel it; especially when they "ordered" their employees to vote for the foo! Take the boycott nationally and open up blogs denoucning Harrah's!

Let's not over look the GOP's involvement in this massive pig from day 1. Yes, they got pressure from the TPN but we still have hearts and minds we must change. Its a start but we still have much work to do.

Reid let this one go because the clock is ticking, and he needs to get other outrages passed into law. We cannot even breathe until we get the gavel out of that witch's hand in January!
Stay vigilant !!

At times I support the Tea Party movement, whenever there under attack by the verminst losers on the left wing and called everyword under the sun, etc. But I hope you folks are aware that the tea party movement is being co-opted by the Republican party and also being infilitrated by radical islamist front groups. I know at the end of that sentence is shocking coming from a conservative like me, but the fact is that some of the tea party demonstrations have some anti-semeitc speakers who are being payed by radical islamist groups who are fronts for hamas and hezbollah. And I hope the founder of this movement notice what I just wrote and distance themselves from the GOP who are co-opting it & radical muslim front groups who get their money overseas, etc. When the tea party movement distance themselves from these shady people, then I'll support them 100% again.

You obviously don't understand the Tea Party at all. You say "I'll support them when they do this" but, you are the "they" that you yourself speak of! You ask that the "Founder of this movement" notices what you say, but, YOU yourself are the founder!
If you can't understand this, then just stay home and watch sports instead of attending the next rally. You're complaining about what's NOT being done, but the Tea Party was born precisely because people were tired of just complaining while being led to the grave. If you're waiting for something to come along and lift you onto your feet, I can't think of anything better than the Tea Party for you, sir.
Sean R.| 12.17.10 @ 5:37PM
Look, I'm NOT being anti-Tea Party movement, I'm not a crazy leftist nutjob. There are some conservative's who are apathetic about the Tea Party and I'm not calling them liberals, that's knee-jerk thinking. But the fact of the matter is, is that their are some Republicans who are co-opting this movement in order to get votes from last months election, etc., and their have been some-to-a few anti-semetic speakers at the movement who are being payed by radical islamist front groups, NOT far-right groups.
Don't get me wrong, I'm calling the tea party movement a radical fringe group, in which they ARE NOT. And I also notice that the majority of the people who attended the rallies love and care for this beautiful country of ours, and I love this country just as much as the next person and just as much as you folks here!

Forgive me for my little error in my first sentence where I mistakingly wrote:
"I'm calling the tea party movement a radical fring group,"
Folks, please forgive me for my error, what I meant to say is, "Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT calling the tea party movement a radical fringe group, in which they ARE NOT." That's what I meant to say, so forgive me for that little error people, thanks.

Sean - Please provide proof of Anti Semiic video, articles, etc of the Tea Party. I've never seen any one even discussing anything but fiscal issues. I am a Tea Partier, who is pro-Israel and I know that our movement will never be co-opted by the Republican Party since we are laser focused on ridding the RINO's.
Sean R.| 12.17.10 @ 1:03PM
I also assume that you folks heard about the START Treaty that both the Democrats & Republicans want to sign onto this weekend. I hope you people emailed any politican from both parties and tell them, "If you sign the START Treaty, I/you will be voted out of office in the next election!"! That simple, no death threats to these politicans (which is illegal BTW) and no long emails about this treaty. I send a some politicans a message this week about the START Treaty, and I said the exact samething what I mentioned.
"A nation is identified by it's borders, language & culture!"

The way you can tell a true Tea Partier between a Republican or RINO, is the one who will stand behind Israel - - enough said!
