Whatever else you want to say about the omnibus spending bill,
from a purely political perspective, it’s a pretty amazing example
of how out of touch Democrats are with the spirit of the times. A
little over a month after they took a “shellacking” at the polls,
they decided to introduce a $1.2 trillion spending bill, with
thousands of earmarks,
including $8 million for the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for
the Senate. It’s a rich target for Republicans to show themselves
as opposed to government spending at a time when the Democratic
strategy was supposed to be about portraying them as fiscal
frauds.

The Democrats are out of touch? What about the REPUBLICANS who voted for this monstrosity?
One would think they understood that US taxpayers are sick of business and spending as usual!
That's why so many of them were elected - to stop this kind of porkulus spending and harmful legislation without thought or debate.

Need to check out Legal Insurrection regarding Dem strategery on this.
They are counting on either RINOs to do what they do or the current Repub leaders to be spineless - good bet for Dems and once again what's good for Dems is bad for America and constitutionally restrained government

Ironic that these are the same people throwing a fit that maintaining the current tax rates will add to the defecit. I don't know that they are tone deaf, I think they just don't care about America.

Obama has the Demkrat lites, otherwise known as Republicans, on the ropes. They don't know how to win. The public, which as become very inclined to vote no on further spending, is attempting to get the Demkrat lites to STAND FOR SOMETHING. Obama wins; we're screwed with all the pork. How is this good? Is this the best the Demkrat lites can do with a clear public mandate to STOP NEEDLESS SPENDING then perhaps there really will be a continued need for a Tea Party.
