In a
side-story accompanying WaPo’s Cancun coverage today
the resident geniuses appear to call greenhouse gases (the two
leading of which are water vapor, followed by carbon dioxide),
toxic.
The [Kyoto] accord doesn’t make developing nations responsible
for reducing emissions because they haven’t produced much, but they
are encouraged to preserve natural resources and invest in
alternative energy to lower future emissions.
It all looked great on paper, but not so much in the real world.
The biggest polluters, the United States and China - which account
for about a quarter of the world’s people and nearly half of its
toxic emissions - are not bound by the agreement.
Note: they’re not beyond editing up their mistakes, as ‘haven’t
produced’ in the very close vicinity of ‘toxic’ was originally
‘haven’t produce’ in my print edition. This comes on the heels of
President Obama twice saying in speeches, to no comment by
WaPo, that carbon dioxide ‘poison[s] the water we
drink’.
Right, guys. But, yes, I know, I know. ‘The science is
settled.’

Carbon dioxide poisons the tonic water the Cancun partiers put in their gin and tonics.... Also the softdrinks into which they put their rum. Glad to see Mr. President's engineering/science degree was so helpful.

Mmm...and if they use diet versions, there's a little aspartame (an actual toxin) to add to the mix.

CO2 IS toxic when spewing from Algore's mouth.

It would be interesting to know who are the actual big time producers of real toxic industrial emissions into the environment like arsenic or, heavy metals. I'll bet it's not the USA.

Are there any soft drink ads in the WaPo?

Given that no lie is too big for Osama, no matter how naked or bold, no matter how much evidence there is to the contraty, I am wondering why he doesn't already claim that he has saved us from planetary destruction in one way or another? If some buy his crap on the "stimulus" package, jobs "saved or created" etc...why wouldn't they buy that?

It always makes me laugh to see tree huggers who don't understand that CO2 is plant food. These people do not have even a basic understanding of science and the scientific method. Their mental processes are petulant and childish.

I can save the planet. We all can by doing nothing about anything to do with Carbon Dioxide or Climate Warming/Change/Disruption. Scrap wind power and enjoy a clear horizon.
Another glass of dihydrogen monoxide [with a whiskey chaser]

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”” — J. Göbbels A correct statement from the second best propaganda minister. Remember he used old Woodrow Wilson own propaganda mill. I'll have a pitcher of dihydrogen monoxide. Then top it off with a carbonated soda.
