Rusty Weiss bluntly analyzes the push for amnesty in the current lame-duck session:

This past election cycle, the American people marched to the polls with a clear-cut message for their officials in Washington — stop. Stop the rise of massive government.  Stop developing policy behind closed doors, through backroom deals. And stop this anti-American agenda. The results were a “shellacking” for the party in power.

Despite the clarity of voice with which the people spoke on November 2nd, the Democrats’ response indicates that they did not get the message.…

President Obama recently met with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus to discuss passage of the DREAM Act (Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors). The act, which Investor’s Business Daily describes quite simply as “an amnesty bill,” would open a path to citizenship for illegal immigrant students. Worse, it is being viewed as a “down payment” to more widespread amnesty measures.

But why would progressives push such legislation during a lame-duck session?  Because the public is clamoring for illegal alien amnesty? No. Because they intend to spit in the face of the American people once again? Yes.

Rather than responding to the midterm election results by actually listening to the message of the American people, Democrats have decided the appropriate response is to add millions of voters who will vote for them.

By the way, it appears that the historic scope of the “shellacking” has increased: Ann Marie Buerkle’s lead is now 567 votes in New York’s 25th District.

As noted here Friday, Buerkle’s defeat of incumbent Democrat Rep. Dan Maffei would give the GOP more House seats (241) than the party has held since 1949. Given the narrow margins in so many elections, however, if Democrats can turn a couple million more illegal aliens into citizens (and Democratic voters), they could with that one stroke effectively overturn the “shellacking.”

They got all the illegal vote in AZ and NV. Why amnesty when the illegals vote anyway?

Remember Minnesota? Recount till we get it right.

Al, amegio, as I have stated on numerous occasion spoken and in print that Dirty Harry's victory was likely to his 'undying' loyalty from the dead voter class here in Nevada.

He is held in very high esteem with the dead and unions of Nevada. Dare I say, he is fairly old ( and looks unhealthy), maybe the Reaper will assist him join that fold of his constituency before six years gone.

People who cannot obtain work visas and have no interest in perm. citizenship anyway can't be bothered to vote in November. The "Latino" vote was under 8% nationally this year...

This is not about getting votes per se, it is about manufacturing a social and administrative crisis that will increase employment of gov't drones. A crisis is a terrible thing to waste, remember?

Indeed.

The ducks might be lame, but they're still rabid.

Democrats don't care what the average American voter thinks (you know, we're stupid, not sophisticated enough to "understand complex issues"). They'll try to get around us by adding more voters who agree with them (illegals who are made legal)...
