According to Roll Call, the jousting between Sens. John Cornyn (R-TX) and Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) didn’t stop on Election Day.

Sen. John Cornyn said during a closed-door meeting Tuesday that he expects colleagues to bring their concerns to him about candidates he recruits as National Republican Senatorial Committee chairman - and not to help mount challenges against them, Republicans familiar with the meeting said Thursday.

Although not mentioned by name, the Republicans said the Texas lawmaker’s speech was clearly intended for the ears of Sen. Jim DeMint.

The South Carolina Republican backed a number of conservative “outsider” candidates this year who won tough primaries against establishment candidates favored by Cornyn, only to be defeated by what had been seen as weak Democratic candidates.

Some of them were certainly defeated. Others like Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Pat Toomey, and Mike Lee won. (Though I know DeMint’s role in Lee’s challenge is disputed.)

Rand Paul had had a double digit lead for six months before De Mint endorsed him, also. Still, De Mint as an endorser was definitely a good thing. Cornyn should just pick better, or shut up, himself.

Cornyn is a McCain RINO Republican and establishment guy and wants moderates nominated and elected to keep the gravy train going. I think Jim DeMint should put a primary challenger against Cornyn next time!! How's that hit ya, Jonnie!! You jerk!

DeMint should keep his powder dry for an eventual challenge to Mitch McConnel for leader. This move, I feel, will come sooner rather than later.

This is rich, if true. John Cornyn & the other boneheads in "the ruling class" of The GOP have done more damage to The GOP brand in recent years than the (Un)American left has. I respect Sen. DeMint for sticking to conservatism & his own principles & fighting against the liberalization of The GOP. If I want to elect leftists I'll vote Democrat. It's time The GOP stop trying to out-Democrat the Democrats with Democrat-lite RINOs & return to the founding principles of The GOP. Sen. Cornyn, wake up & stop trying to liberalize The GOP with wishy-washy, unprincipled RINOs. Right now I respect my former Senator Arlen Specter much more than I do you. He at least did the right thing & joined the Democrat Party instead of continuing to fight against those in the Party he disagreed with. If he hadn't done this I wouldn't have Pat Toomey as one of my two Senators now. You would have seen to that no doubt. The GOP is a conservative Party whether you want it to be or not & if you want modern liberalism please join the Democrats as Senator Specter did. Stop whining & do your job Senator. Otherwise I'm sure Senator DeMint would do VERY as chairman of the NRSC.

Pardon my fat fingers. That should have read, Otherwise I'm sure Senator Demint would do VERY WELL as chairman of the NRSC.

Interesting contrast.

DeMint reports the disgusting Senate GOP meeting where RINOs refuse to strip the undignified (now shown to be shockingly corrupt) Lisa Murkowski of her posts and seniority. DeMint is accused of Mortal Sin: revealing (corrupt, degenerate) political insider stuff.

Cornyn hammers DeMint (not directly, you understand, but obviously) and really puts him in his place. "Shut up, Conservative! Damn your eyes and all who travel with you!" Something like that. It's now a virtue to reveal this highly private stuff to the Public.

Where as Demint sponsored nominees after the local districts voted for them, cornyn overruled the local GOPs with such wonderous selections as spector, crist, scuzzyflava and the CA sisters.
cornyn wasted many millions on loosers while condemning local picks. May cornyn get in the unemployment line in '12

Cornyn is the king of the RINO Republicans. His picks were out and out disasters. And guess what, he will continue to lead the committee, picking more RINO's.

Well, we the Tea Party can continue to donate to the Senate Conservative's Fund led by Jim DeMint. What that tells me is that the Republicans plan to keep on spending money and doing insider deals as we all slide down into the abyss together.

O'Donnell is a nut| 11.19.10 @ 4:49PM

Cornyn is not a RINO. And it his job to find Republican candidates that can win, not play to the ego of Tea Party clowns who nominate morons who couldn't be elected dog catcher. But hey, you go ahead and give to organizations that help nominate clueless idiots like Christine O'Donnell and Sharron Angle.

ECM| 11.19.10 @ 5:16PM

Winning doesn't do you much good if you end up w/ Spectre's and the like, you fool.

Stan| 11.19.10 @ 7:56PM

DOG FACE Cornyn is a RINO he is the useless Senator that wants to keep the money comming in for business as usaul to line his pockets with the rest of the no-brains like flip flop Mc Cain, the only IDIOT I see here is you and the RINO DOG FACE....

Patriot| 11.19.10 @ 9:35PM

NO MORE RINOS! Including Myth Romney.

JKR| 11.20.10 @ 1:34PM

We can just donate to candidates directly, in the internet age.

That is what I did, this time.

O'Donnell is a nut| 11.19.10 @ 4:44PM

Mike Lee shouldn't even be mentioned in that list. No Republican in my lifetime will lose a Senate race to a Democrat in Utah. Mentioning his name as an example of a Tea Party candidate that won a general election in an attempt to burnish DeMint's and the Tea Party's credentials is a joke.

JKR| 11.20.10 @ 1:37PM

It was ML's taking the primary where the grass roots came in. If you recall.
And as for tea party/Constitutional alignment, I understand he and Rand Paul are hitting it off great in DC.

Pay no attention to my patient please. Responding to him just eggs him on & his condition worsens. My job is hard enough as it is.

Patriot| 11.19.10 @ 9:34PM

LOL!

Jude Bonham| 11.22.10 @ 3:23AM

Too many Johnnie Cornyn's will spell another backlash from the electorate that hungers for real, principled, conservative leadership. I'm a Texan and will vote against JohnnieBoy at all costs. He needs to be sent back to ranch. Flippin' RINO!! God Bless Jim DeMint.
