Shawn,
that is the nightsoil of male oxen. Mr. Obama and Homeland security are forming the "civilian national police force" he spoke of way back when.
These unemployable TSA agents are exactly the type of loosers Hitler, and Stalin employed as their foot soldier Gestapo, and KGB.
This is going to be the battlefield, it seems, or at least one of them.
Occam's Tool| 11.17.10 @ 7:06PM
Brilliant as usual, Ken.
You know, I had a thought---what if the bad guys were told that any terrorist action would lead to random acts of SEVERE violence in the country they originally derived from? (British subjects radicalized in Saudi sponsored mosques would be attributed to Saudi Arabia, for instance)
Then we stop searching anyone except Middle Eastern men and Women. Call it a war power.
I wonder how that would affect air transport and terror attacks? One carpet bombing of Mecca later, it should STOP. We want to give the Arab terror sponsoring governments (and Iran) some sunburned skin in the game, no?
Ken (Old Texican)| 11.17.10 @ 7:53PM
Tool,
sometimes you are bad...bad...bad...(grin)
Seriously though, don't these jihadists realize that the Mecca cube is already dialed in with the Israeli missile GPS systems?
...It would be sorta' boring to make a pilgrimage to a crater in the desert.
matthew s harrison| 11.17.10 @ 8:29PM
Ken(and Tool)....I would most definitely make a pilgrimage to a crater where mecca used to be-I have my iodine pills all ready!
When do the GMFs unleash the cruise missiles?

Sounds to me like you guys are talking about the US Constitution again. We are attacked on 9/11. Congress declares war on 9/12. Not a proportional police action against two men and a goat in some non-place Trashcanistan; war. On 9/13 we are in Saudia Arabia. We own the oil. We control access to Mecca for all future Hajis. We can vaporize any Islamic hell-hole that has a problem with the new facts on the ground. And those two men and their goat? Well, gee, they don't have any money or support anymore and any sensible country shouldn't let them in. Case closed. Instead the politicians used 9/11 as a way to consolidate power. Imagine that!

These encounters remind me of the part in "Cool Hand Luke" when the jailer is going through his littany of rules and ends each sentance with "...or you will spend on night in the box." So beware!
Dbowers| 11.17.10 @ 4:07PM
The case is all about blood: when asked to rescue the wounded and dying our soldier will do so without hesitation. If that wounded man/woman is openly gay-there will be, inevitably, hesitation. and hesitation kills. Having been in the military, I would rather not know.

And now I hear "flying is a priviledge" . . .

I recently had a good friend ask me if all these increased airport security measures were really just "much ado about nothing".
I replied that if we just ignore the non-trasportation efforts of muslims since September 11, like the Times Square bomber, the Fort Dix plot to kill American soldiers, the successful Fort Hood shooter, the millenium bomber who was caught at the Canadian border, the Lodi, CA al Queida recruit of about 2005, the SUV murderer in San Francisco, the murder at the synagogue in Seattle, the Washington D.C. sniper, even if we ignored all of these efforts, we would still have to admit that pre September 11, 2001 there was an al Queda plot to blow up 10 airliners over the Pacific simultaneously, the 4th of July shooting at the El Al counter in LA, a failed bombing attempt at Heathrow airport in Brittain, a subway bomber in Spain, a shoe bomber on an airplane, and just last year, a muslim tried to blow up a 747 over U.S. soil on Christmas day with a crotch bomb. Oh, I almost forgot the toner/bombs of just last month.
I appreciate how intrusive, humiliating, and plain unpleasant all these TSA measures are, but our enemy is resilient, creative, patient, and constantly probing for our weak points. I realize that no one reading this is a threat to our security, heck, almost no one who is checked is a threat to our security on a plane. However, we are trying to prevent the enemy from "winning the lottery", beating the odds, and killing a bunch of innocent people. Just something to think about.

L-
While I agree we must prevent further attacks on the homeland via aircraft, giving Penn Gilette a handjob, and nuns dirty sanchezes isn't going to do anything other than slow down the screening process, and force the bad guys to find another way to blow us up(other than a dick bomb, or a butt-splosive device.
The long and short is, there are better ways to protect us. The security check points in Israel are at the curb. We change the set-up at our airports-make people disrobe to pants and a shirt., don't let them wear baggy clothing, hijabs, turbans-nothing that would allow them to conceal anything. Run them through strong magnitometers, and xray all the bags at the curb. That simple-that quick. When they aren't wearing a bunch of clothes, and their bags are being perused by x-rays, sheppherds, and real screeners, there is no chance to smuggle assbombs, dickbombs, or well, other bombs.
then the entire airport is secure. Then there is no chance of a bag blowing up, cargo blowing up, or ahmed's nuts blowing up.
The Israelis have the security game cornered. They do it right.
We have a lot more money than they do, and an exponentially larger physical asset base than they do. Why don't we take this seriously?
We don't take it seriously, because by having a bunch of barney frank types groping little boys at security check points in the airports, it "looks" like we are being protected. It is all subterfuge. The folks at homeland insecurity know damn well that these rectal probes don't work. They know that making you carry your massengail douches in 5 oz containers rather than 20, they are just making you think that everything is a-okay.
At the end of the day-we don't x-ray every bag. Therefore, when we do have another attack-it will be because we don't x-ray bags and bomb sniff bags and cargo holds, we allow muslims to work on the ramp at every major airport, and there are muslims inside HLS passing info out to the badder guys every day.
The tallywacker bomb, shoe bomb, etc were all flase-flags...any security hack with 6 days of training will tell you that! The real stuff is traveling with luggage-and that is the stuff that will get us.
Until these retards in the WH and all of the agencies the retards in the WH have appointed really want to protect us, we will not be safe.
And if anyone reading this really thinks osama obama, or al zawahiri, or any of the other "masterminds" in al qaeda are stupid enough to have guys carry the real thing in on their person, and not in a checked bag, then they need a psychiatrist, or just a good old fashioned slap. These guys are smart. They flew planes into 3 buildings, planes FROM AMERICA. They blew up the WTC before that, a few dozen embassies around the world, some barracks with 400 or so marines in them in Lebanon, some barracks in Saudi-and regularly kill christians and jews around the world, with impunity. To think that the most recent probative moves were real attempts to bring down airplanes is lunacy!
I do have to say, I would love to see the ridicule the dick bomber is getting at GTMO though! I bet the other "real" terrorists down there are giving him no end of hell for melting off his own sack! Classic indeed!
burkanuck| 11.18.10 @ 2:26PM
L,
What happens when the bomber uses a device inserted in his rectum? What will they do to screen us then?
How about that for "just something to think about"?
Kimber 1911| 11.18.10 @ 8:17AM
The Israeli's don't use back scatter machines...they use the humans who are trained to observe...besides as pointed out...back scatter machines don't detect chemicals? However bomb sniffing dogs are trained to detect trace elements. Doesn't matter if the chemicals are wrapped in plastic and put into a "crevice" or not...seems to me dogs would be cheaper and more reliable and then horror of horror's...the TSA would have to get real jobs...now that's a pity
