Beneath Contempt

In my latest article, I write about President Obama, the meaning and interpretations of jihad and the question of whether he will condemn the stoning law in Indonesia’s Aceh province.

Well, today we got a reminder of where President Obama’s thinking is on these matters. Instead of criticizing the application of Sharia law in Indonesia he once again chided the construction of Israeli settlements in East Jerusalem. By making a point of criticizing Israel in a Muslim country, Obama advances the relentless campaign to delegitimize the world’s only Jewish state. It is an act beneath the President of the United States.

This will not end good for Israel; a president who's a muslim symphesiser, going around to establish a palestinian state by fiat thru the UN. What a coward!

Occam's Tool| 11.10.10 @ 10:41AM

Yeah, it's sad when the PM of Israel has to be the leader of the Free World.

Penny| 11.10.10 @ 10:31PM

Occam, Mr.Netanyahu is not entirely alone. Our Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, recently made a fine speech to commemorate the Holocaust, which was cited today on both The Corner at NRO and American Thinker. That speech is well worth reading in full. Mr.Harper is a man of integrity and moral clarity, and is virtually alone in speaking out FOR Israel. As he said himself, he has the bruises to prove this support, including the fact that the arabs declined Canada a temporary UN Security Council seat in favour of Portugal and Germany. This though Canada's Afghanistan losses are the 3rd highest since that war began.

This Resident in the Peoples White House, when elected, came with a FIST full of personal resentment-laden straws.

One by one he be done cavalierly pulling them out - until there will ultimately be a LAST STRAW!

Obama declared Indonesia an example of the 'spirit of tolerance', which the world should emulate. In the meantime, the U.S. gets nothing from him but continued disrespect and ridicule.

Obama's first couple of years are marked by his willful ignorance on what makes America work. His last two years may finish off internationally what he started locally- relegating America to the irelevence he believes it so richly deserves.

Mike W| 11.10.10 @ 8:43AM

I wonder if Mr. Goldstein found Obama's attack on a US state to the president of Mexico, beneath contempt.

The last time I checked Israel was not the 51st state.

Occam's Tool| 11.10.10 @ 10:37AM

The last time I checked Mr. Goldstein did find Mr. Obama beneath contempt in many ways.

Most of us who support Israel also support strong borders. There's no cognitive dissonance between the two positions. And Mike, if you've got a yellow streak, just admit it.

Sean| 11.10.10 @ 8:46AM

Didn't Obama get 74% of the Jewish vote. Obviously he is doing something they like. Whether Indonesia wants Sharia law or Israel wants to build apartments is none of our business. Lets get rid of foreign aid and get out of the UN.

Occam's Tool| 11.10.10 @ 10:40AM

This Jew voted for the War hero. Increasingly, Israel does not represent the views of the American Liberal Jew; instead, it finds the vast majority of its supporters among Conservative Christians.

Incidentally, Sharia law is going to be your business. You may want to forget history; history does not forget you. Sorry Sean, you're a kaffir. They want you as a dhimmi. You can decide to fight together or die separately.

NavyBrat | 11.10.10 @ 11:04AM

This Jew & son of a Vietnam vet ALSO voted for McCain. And I can't tell you why so many of my fellow Jews don't get it. But they don't. I consider myself in good company with Occam here.

Tim*| 11.10.10 @ 11:30AM

John McCain Is A Serial Traitor to Conservatism.

McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Lieberman, Gang of 14, Opposing Bush 2001 & 2003 Tax Cuts, Voted For TARP.

NavyBrat | 11.10.10 @ 3:27PM

Tim*:

I realize that McCain is not the most conservative guy, but really man, what was I supposed to do? Not vote? That's the same as casting a vote for OhBummer. Too many men have served & died for my right to vote. That alone prevents me from neglecting that duty. Give us a break, Bro.

Tim*| 11.10.10 @ 5:44PM

Sean| 11.10.10 @ 3:24PM

Oh I know history all right. Muslims have zero chance to take over this country unless we import them through immigration.

Warrior | 11.10.10 @ 11:12AM

He also received over 90% of the black vote and he's done little to nothing for them also. This has nothing to do with the UN and foreign aid. Not since Jimmy Carter have we seen a sitting president take such an anti-semitic viewpoint.

Sean| 11.10.10 @ 3:29PM

I am no fan of Obama, but I hardly find it anti-semitic. This does have something to do with foreign aid and the UN because it is a waste of the taxpayers money. The US is funding all these welfare states around the world. If Indonesia wants Sharia law so be it. If Israel wants to build apartments let them. Let us just make sure our taxpayer money isn't supporting this stuff.

FastJohnny| 11.10.10 @ 9:08AM

It is a two fold problem, the current crop of liberals and progressives see it as fashionable to bash Jews and Israel as well as bash any semblence of western democracy wherever it may exist. Israel is pretty much the only model of a working western representative government in the that whole area. Yes, there may be some inklings of democracy in some of the smaller states in the middle east or near east, but those are embattled within their own countries and under attack by those who would have a theocratic run government. Remember the Czech's? Remember how the post-modernist world thought it was best to dissassemble a country for the greater good of the region to appease the fascists? What is different here? The liberals in America and the anti-semetic Europeans support the dismantling of the Israeli state to appease those who would seek a Islamic state in place of it. Obama can not stand the thought of a democratic form of government and has a huge chip on his shoulder when it comes to Jewish people. This is a marxist/muslim approach to foriegn policy. He is not a representative of the American people, but a representative of his own special interests, which are nefarious to say the least. He is a bad man, a very bad man indeed.

Dale Cord| 11.10.10 @ 12:39PM

Most of the population of our country is suffering under the delusion that the Republicans are for the American people. There is no difference between these two UN-AMERICAN POLITICAL PARTIES, who have been fleecing the citizens of this country now since Woodrow Wilson's Communist regime took root in Washington. Being uneducated in history and politics is no shameful thing considering, our educational system is being controlled by the political machine in Washington and abroad. What is shameful though is to remain in a state of mental confusion as to who our enemy really is in this country. To focus your mind on entertainment though, instead of who is violating the sanctity of your freedoms, livelihood, home and privacy as an American citizen is the epitome of shameful stupidity. Your bible and history books have a multitude of warning signs for your survival in this world of predators. Who seek not only your income but your very soul. If you really want what is best for your loved ones, and true God given freedom and equality for all in America. Then open your eyes and unlock your mind and let truth, set you free. The removal of both the Democrat's and Republican's in this great country of ours would be a great start. Read our Constitution for the legality and authorization by the people to do this or, remain subjects and cannon fodder to the warlords and criminals who rein over us at this present time. "There is a way that seems right to a man but, the end therein is Death"

Those who elected this 3 dollar bill have new reason to apologize.

matthew s harrison| 11.10.10 @ 1:33PM

Not only that Aaron-but in his speech, he called Islam, "the global religion". The man is setting us up for such a big fall it isn't even a joke any more-it is terrifying. Israel is going to be left to fight iran, hamas and hizbollah alone-and it isn't going to be pretty. Impeachment anyone?

PattyMor| 11.10.10 @ 3:02PM

Its time for Israel to play hard ball. This would be my advice: Get the Moussad busy collecting all the missing BHO documents. Gather the school records from Indonesia, high school, college, Woods Foundation, and all his jobs. Interview his marxists college friends and professors; his half sister and aunt Z .in Boston Public Housing. Get a copy of the tape of the going away party for Rashid Kahlidi (tucked away at the LA times). Gather all the data on his illegal foreign fund raising.

Get a computer whiz to post all the documents on the world wide web for all to see. Then sit back and watch the fun!!

NavyBrat | 11.10.10 @ 3:29PM

Oooh, I LIKE IT!!!! Maybe while they're at it, they can send some of their "welcoming committee" guys to visit Mr. Ayers & Ms. Dohrn while they're at it.

Bob Miller| 11.10.10 @ 4:00PM

If Stanley Kurtz' book won't do it, how will some more documents do it?

Kris Lepine| 11.10.10 @ 7:47PM

It's obvious to all who watch this "regime" in action, this is a very small man. He seems to enjoy using his power to "call people out" if he objects to their behavior. He is not going curb his behavior as this is who he really is. Thankfully we don't have to listen to it from his wife. They've put a sock in her mouth. But they are going to "soak' this country for all they can while they are riding the "gravy train". Let's see Hawaii, Spain, France, India, Martha's Vineyard twice, Indonesia, all in less than 2 years. Lets keep those expensive trips coming for our royalty.
