For the first time since 1996, Congress will have not one but two black Republicans. Congressman-elect Allen West (R-FL) says he plans to join the Congressional Black Caucus. Congressman-elect Tim Scott (R-S.C.), having spent a year in South Carolina’s Black Legislative Caucus, is currently leaning against it.

Such a split would not be unusual. Congressman Gary Franks (R-CT) belonged to the CBC but fellow Rep. JC Watts (R-OK)  declined to join. Franks lost a reelection bid in 1996 and ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate. Watts became chairman of the House Republican Conference and left Congress of his own accord after the 2002 elections.

Give 'em Hell, Col. West! I knew supporting this guy was going to pay off. But if I knew he would do this, I would have written a bigger check. This is going to be fun . . . . WEEEEEEEEEE!

Uh oh! He's pro-Israel.
See Timmy* run. Run, Timmy* run!
And he reads from the Old Testament concerning God's plan.

Let's see how long after Col., now Rep. West joins them, presuming they let him join, before the Black Caucus finds a reason to boot him out?
And for what reason, not being Black enough?
And what does that mean, not Black enough?

After all, he's a true conservative and staunch defender of Israel. Something racists and Leftists hate to the bone.

Col. West is mounting a big challenge to the Democrats in the Black Caucus. I agree with an earlier poster, this should be fun. Col. West is a highly capable man and a true patriot. I expect him to move on up quickly.

West is "black enough" (and big enough), raised in ATL, doesn't have to pretend to be anything other than himself. intellectual, educated, SAVED, and doesn't pressure easy at all.....being that he's principled!
