House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced today that she would run to be Democratic minority leader in the next Congress.
Following the GOP’s sweeping victory in Tuesday’s elections, there was some speculation that Pelosi would step aside rather than serve in leadership while in the minority party. Some moderate Democrats called on her not to run.
But moments ago, Pelosi posted the following message on her Twitter account: “Driven by the urgency of creating jobs & protecting #hcr, #wsr, Social Security & Medicare, I am running for Dem Leader.”
Given her penchant for vote counting, it’s unlikely that Pelosi would seek the post unless she was confident she had enough support to win.

Perhaps she has counted the votes in advance, but then again, on Tuesday afternoon she was quoted as saying the Democrats were "on pace" to retain control of the House. She does not appear to be immune from delusion.

Yes, let her shriveled old face continue to be the face of the Dems, with her 8% approval rating among independents. With Pelosi and Reid still dancing attendance at Obama's heels, the GOP has been given a gift-wrapped package for 2012. Of course, they'll be too stupid to utilize it properly, but that's another issue entirely.

So, let me get this straight. The GOP wins a massive victory in the House, denys the Democrats a working majority in the Senate... and still gets to run against the two most disliked political figures in the country in San Fran Nan and the Searchlight Undertaker. Most of the Blue Dogs were defeated. Aside from Alan Grayson losing, what's left of the DemoCrat
party is MORE extreme.
Look Nancy was a very effective leader. She got the bills passed, that they wanted passed. She is the perfect foil, along with Barack and Harry for 2012. And, she loses the big plane in January!!
