In a rare Washington appearance, Angelo Codevilla, author of our summer issue's blockbuster indictment of America's Ruling Class, will speak today at noon over lunch at Ebenezers Coffeehouse at 201 F Street, NE, right next to Union Station and behind the Heritage Foundation.

Professor Codevilla's appearance is sponsored by Hillsdale College and its First Principles on First Fridays program. His topic: "Does America Have a Ruling Class?" (Tuesday's election results notwithstanding, which he will also discuss).

Afterward, he will sign copies of his book The Ruling Class: How They Corrupted America and What We Can Do About It, based on his American Spectator essay that rocked the political landscape and made it cool to find safety in the Country Class.

Hope to see you there.

I'd be there for sure, except I live in northern New Mexico. Maybe Mr. Codevilla will be in Santa Fe or Albuquerque in the near future?

But will any of you Aristocrats in Washington DC understand what he is talking about?

You left the Country Class long ago when you removed your operations from Indiana.

Bob: I have tentatively and timidly brooked the possibility of some of the conservative operations either branching out or moving operations wholesale to Inner America.. I understand the desireability of being near the scene of the crimes for reporting purposes, but the perception of jaded taint is often in the air. Likewise, it might be good for the Department of Transportation to be relocated to Phoenix, for Congress to convene occasionally in Kansas City, Chattanooga and Fargo and so forth.

If you get a chance ask Professor Codevilla if John Lukacz's recent Historical Eassay: "Democracy and Populism-Fear and Hatred" influenced his book.

His essay, originally published in the American Spectator, was an astounding bit of insight into what is motivation many Americans right now. Obtaining a copy of his book, I put up a review on Amazon of the book. His book on the Trial Lawyer type extortion of over $1B from Switzerland is a great read, guaranteed to make an honest individual angry at the corruption dictating American "foreign policy."
