On Friday, I
wrote about Randy Moss’ return to New England in a Minnesota
Vikings uniform. Like so much else in the NFL, this event was
overshadowed by all things Brett Favre. Though Moss was limited to
one reception for eight yards — he did draw a couple of helpful
penalties, and would have surely caught a touchdown were it not for
pass interference — he didn’t cede the spotlight willingly. Moss
gave one of his
classic press conferences, in which he announced he would be
sticking to self-interviews for the remainder of the season,
followed by words of praise for his old team and little nice to say
about his new (though once old) one.
Who knows why Moss says and does these things? But his remarks
did convey some sense, however foggy, that being a millionaire
further padding his millions may not be as fun as playing a game he
loves with his friends. Especially since his role in the Minnesota
offense doesn’t look much different. So far, he has just gone from
clearing things out over the middle for Wes Welker to clearing
things out over the middle for Percy Harvin.
UPDATE: And the Vikings have
waived Randy Moss.

I think Moss deserves a little understanding. He just left the greatest football organization in the modern world, and the greatest sports city in all of history. Let's cut the man a little slack.

Where's Duane Thomas when we need him?

How many more millions to easy his pain... he can afford understanding; nothing is free these days - except being unemployeed. I wonder how he would like that ( and broke like a huge portion of the nation).

He wants back on the Pat's ! He'll gladly be a decoy and open it up for others-he smells a real shot at a ring and that is what he wants.
