This morning the President was briefed on a power failure that
briefly shut down 50 nuclear missiles over the weekend.
Marc Ambinder and
Noah Shachtman report.
“The White House response to the incident has been jaw
dropping,”
writes John Noonan, a former Air Force missile launch officer.
He contends that, despite the official line that this is “not that
big of a deal,” it’s actually a huge deal, and underscores the need
to update aging delivery systems. Noonan suggests that this could
impact the debate over ratification of New START; my sense is that
that treaty was already on shaky ground.

Why panic? Why even care? They're probably jumping for joy.
This just gives the Obamoids an excuse to decommission these systems. Now that we have govt. health care and trillion-dollar annual deficits, we can't afford the luxury of all these unnecessary military toys.

That's not a power failure. That's a super-power failure.

Just like how they used the Gulf Oil spill to try to shut down drilling and push Cap & Tax again, they will use this as an excuse to further Obama's goal of leaving America completely defenseless to other nuclear powers - as is his intention. Never let a crisis go to waste!
In the future, living in a house whose walsl are thickly coated in lead paint might not be such a bad thing...

"Senate Republicans have been pressing Senate Democrats to spend more money ..."
At last, something worthy of taking out a Chinese loan for.
