What makes them so wonderful? Ask my teenage niece, who works part-time (less than 20 hours a week — probably much less) for a major grocery chain in the Northeast. But she still has to pay union dues. Unless she attends one of their meetings this week. Then she can get $50 of it returned to her.
Thoughtful of them, isn’t it?

are her dues prorated? or does she pay the same amount as full time employees?
Niece's mother| 10.19.10 @ 8:32PM
It's $8.25 a week for part-timers, and $9.85 per week for full-time (depending on what you earn.)

The $50 was for attending the first timer's meeting.... the other 4 yearly meetings are $10. Just so you know.
It was very boring and politically liberal.

if your son works in a grocery store he is a member of the united food and commercial workers union(UFCW). the international president makes about $500,000 per year, most of the local presidents make $150,000. the union collects dues from the part time workers who make slightly above minimum wage. the union makes lots of money on the initiation fee because there is a tremendous turnover in part time workers.
of course, this union supported obama and gave him lots of money and manpower to make calls and distribute campaign literature.

Bribed with your own money.
What wonderful people.
Naturally, Obama wants more people in unions.
According to Obama most people have too much money and the unions too little.
So it is best to spread the money around.
All under gunpoint of the IRS.

Tell your relative to move to Texas or any right to work state. We don't believe in unions here or any other Obama BullCrap!
