Great article. It is very true. There was a story that McCain was screaming at some pro-immigration representatives after the election, "Why didn't you come through for me?"

And the same thing has happened in areas besides immigration. President Bush made the mistake of turning education over to the federal government, yet he didn't get any credit for it. Ted Kennedy and other Democrats started attacking Bush before his signature was dry, and they kept it up. Now the Obama team says that Bush's No Child Left Behind is terrible and hurts children.

The same thing has happened again and again: Republicans sign onto some Democratic bill, then get nothing but Democratic attack ads from it.

As has been said before, "Give liberal voters a choice between a liberal Republican and a Democrat and they'll choose the real Democrat every time." RINO just doesn't sell.

You really think Hispanics are being sincere on this issue?
They mean: "we want illegals out (unless they are our own kin."

What? You're crazy, McCain! Bush pushed his amnesty program and look what happened in 06 and 08! The Republicans won in landslides! Millions of Hispanics came out to thank him by voting in large margins of Republicans in BOTH houses! And if the . . . hold on. My 5-year old girl is trying to tell me something . . . Yes, honey? . . . Uh huh, the stupid party, right, Republicans. . . . Okay, so they keep doing it anyway? . . . Um, yes that is stupid. . . . WHAT? . . . . Really? And Bush kept kicking us? . . . . And the Hispanics didn't? . . . . Oh, um, I see. . . . Um, okay. SO, where was I . . . er, never mind.

From the article:
"Legal immigrants and U.S. natives frequently take a dim view of illegal immigration, regardless of ethnicity."

That is the point which seems to be forgotten. There has been a massive backlash from the Republican voter base. The Republican party has begun splitting into two parties (Tea Party). How could anyone ignore that when discussing amnesty? The party leadership seems to have this strange idea that they'll get the conservative votes no matter how far left the Republican party goes. That has been a huge mistake which has lost many congressional seats for the Republican Party.

I would like to see more churches, especially small ones, simply not register with the IRS. Your church would not be an "entity" to them, it would simply be a group of people practicing freedom of assembly. They would have no hold or control over what is said from the pulpit.

Anyone want to wager on Speaker Boehner's supposed adamantine resolve to avoid amnesty legislation?
