Townhall's Guy Benson spoke to former UN Ambassador John Bolton about a potential 2012 presidential bid. Among other things, Bolton doesn't think a mustache would doom a candidate. "I think the American people would say it's a complete non-issue," he said.

Despite Townhall's follicular fear,
Bolton's campaign goes into low gear.

I can win it like Taft,
What's on my lip is neither hair nor there!"

You can be the ruling class would make an issue out of it, something along the lines of "the failed facial hair of the past." While the left claims to be color blind, their fashion sense wouldn't allow them to remain quiet when faced with a tickler.

The Pro-Gay Marriage Cheney Wing probably doesn't care about the 'stache--deep interview, on par with something from MTV.

The idea of John Bolton running for an elective office is a non-issue.

It is a non-issue. Exactly.

Why does this web site waste words on it?

Elvis is more likely to return before Bolton has a chance at any elective office.

John Bolton is actually a slightly left-leaning who, when he thinks about politics, considers the NYT the paper of record. However, Bolton is the host organism for his moustache, a principled conservative, riveting speaker, and inspired polemicist who has controlled the "Boltstache" symbiote since its early thirties.

So the moustache is far from a non-issue: though it is clearly of presidential timber, photographic documentation suggests that it may be less than 35 years old. Additionally, depending on where "John Bolton" began growing it, the moustache's citizenship status could become a political football to rival Obama's.

Tom Selleck for VP!

He has always reminded me of Captain Kangaroo.

Is John Bolton by any chance related to Sam Elliott? I think we should be told.
