You knew this was coming. Linda McMahon is out today with a hard hitting ad against Richard Blumenthal, highlighting his history of lying (or at least being repeatedly misleading) about his Vietnam record:

Blumenthal holds a slight 4-point edge in an average of polls compiled by Real Clear Politics. Cook Political Report considers the race a toss-up.

UPDATE: Since writing this, a new poll by Democratic firm PPP shows Blumenthal with a more comfortable 12-point lead.

That guy looks a lot like Kerry; another lying Northeast lib. Horse face? No, horse's other end.

I'm no fan of professional wrestling, but it looks like Vince married a winner.

Well, if the reference to the latest poll is accurate, two conclusions ineluctably flow:1] the Democratic Party has no qualm about running a contemptible liar, and2] If his constituents want such a liar, they're entitled.

Military records should prove one way or the other where Blumenthal served if he actually did. I spent 17 months in the US Army during the Viet Nam war but was stationed in Germany. Kornweistein Germany, just outside of Stuttgart. My brother was in Nam at the time. Blumenthal would have photos or other proof that he actually served in Nam.

It's good that McMahon is beating this drum. But it's an old issue that came out months ago, so she's already squeezed as much as she can out of it.

Same thing happened with the RINO Kirk in Illinois. He was caught lying about his military record and it took him a month to come totally clean and make a real apology. The bleeding has stopped now, no matter how hard the Democrat pushes it, and the two candidates are tied.
