Seems to me the GOP establishment, if they really believed O’Donnell was an unsuitable candidate, then they should have gone out and recruited a conservative who was suitable to them and that the Tea Partiers could support. They failed.
They’ve known about the Tea Party anger for how long now? For all the kingmaking power they think they have, and as conservative as they want people to think they are, why didn’t they just go find the right guy or gal? The heads of the NRCC and NRSC do that all the time. Their job is to recruit candidates who have a good chance of winning, but they didn’t here, because they wanted to endorse the liberal Castle instead. They thought they were entitled to decide who the nominee would be, and they were wrong. Wake up call!
They shouldn’t blame the Tea Partiers for their own laziness.

As others have said its all about power fopr the Beltway Class being taken away. That said there is positive in negative. The Repulican establishment types, Karl Rove,George Potaki,in fact GWB, and their followers are exposed. But the more important exposure is the behavior of the RINOS--who if given a slight breeze or opposition are Socialist Democrat types in sheep's wool. Charlie Christ,Arlen S, Castle, and the rest of them are really closet Democrat Socialists and will show their true skins once pushed to defend themselves. Now the Karl Rove and their ilk are on the line--which side are they really one ? Rove was extraordinarily or was he ( and do not get too exceited abnout this ) extraordinariloy clever in his apparent sever tongue lashing about O'donnell. This is my "weird Take" Taken on it s face his comments were over the top ans destructive. But, they are probably energizing O'Donnell and her supporters to be determined ( more perhaps than if Rove came out waving the Tea Party Banner ) to show she can be a winner. A motivational issue. Wether by design or by accident this element I wil bet will be a factor in not only this race but others as well.

I think Mr. Chesser is factually wrong when he says that the NRSC failed in their job to recruit a candidate with a good chance of winning. Mr. Castle was that candidate and it's hard to dispute that Mr. Castle fits the bill. Indeed, he may fit the bill better than Ms. O'Donnell.
In my opinion, the NRSC is entitled to support, without apology, a GOP incumbent in a primary.
However, in Delaware, as in Florida, NH and elsewhere, no incumbents were involved.
The NRSC has no business involving itself on behalf of any candidate in a GOP primary contested by non-incumbents. That's what's got their tit in a wringer, and it serves them right.
Personally, I'd prefer a left-leaning shoo-in GOP candidate that helps give us control of the Senate over a potential insurgent loser. However, now that the voters of Delaware have spoken, everyone who supports the GOP and opposes Obama and the Democrats should back Ms. O'Donnell to the hilt and try to get her over the goal line in victory.

No, you are factually wrong because of not reading Chesser's entire sentence, which ended "and that the Tea Partiers could support". Clearly, the Tea Parties cannot and will not support RINO candidates such as Castle.
What the leadership is supposed to do is choose candidates who are supported by the Republican voters and so can win a contested primary, fair & square.
But the Republican leadership refuses to do that. Instead they choose the left-leaning candidate which they prefer, then use the rules, spin, and brain-washing to try and talk conservative Tea Party voters into voting for a candidate who disagrees with them.

Well, Mr. Siegfried, now you're talking opinion, not facts.
Apparently it's your opinion that the NRSC should involve itself in GOP primaries in which only non-incumbents are running; it's my opinion that they should not.
The fact remains that Mr. Castle looked (and still looks) like the strongest GOP candidate in the general election for the Senate seat in Delaware. But that's all history now.

It's the people's seat, not Scott Brown's seat or the leadership's seat or the moderate's seat.
In our democratic system people can vote for whoever they want.

One small point here. The "Tea Party" did not choose O'Donnell over Castle. The membership of the Republican Party in Delaware did. There is no "Tea Party" in the vast majority of the states in the Union.

The Delaware voters made the final decision. But what revived O'Donnell's campaign was $600,000 of tea party money along with Sarah Palin's endorsement. If some of the tea parties hadn't selected O'Donnell that way, she wouldn't be the nominee.

Speaking of intolerant, it looks like Lisa Murkowski will run a write-in campaign. She won't announce until 1 am Saturday morning EDT, but she strongly hints that she's going to run.
