Kelly Ayotte has been certified the winner of the New Hampshire Republican primary for U.S. Senate, the Associated Press is reporting. Ayotte beat Ovide Lamontagne by 1,667 votes. A recount is still possible.

Bummer. I tossed in w/ Ovide, but I'm at least glad we didn't end up w/ an internecine war as was the case in DE, so hopefully Ovide can come back in a couple of years for Congress or maybe take another stab at governor--with the backing of the national party--now that his profile has been substantially raised.

Conservative endorsers took a hint.
Now Ovide's tally's trailin',
Despite Sarah Palin,
Left dry, wouldn't try 'Cream DeMint'.

Sorry that Lamontagne didn't pull it out. Ayotte is fairly conservative, certainly no Snowe or Castle or Brown, but she is also a feminist. Can't win them all.
