It must be hard to know that the majority of Americans don't
think you're doing a very good job. But what's it like to
know that the people who don't like you REALLY DON'T LIKE YOU?
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for
Sunday shows that 24% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of
the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president.
Forty-seven percent (47%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a
Presidential Approval Index rating of -23 (see
trends).
That's the highest level of Strong Disapproval and the lowest
Approval Index daily rating yet recorded for this president.
However, while the daily ratings are sometime volatile, a
Month-by-Month review of the president's numbers continues
to show a high degree of stability. On a full-month basis, the
Presidential Approval Index has stayed between -14 and -17 for
eight of the past nine months.
Twice as many people have strongly negative as strongly
positive opinions of his performance. Indeed,
almost half of the population strongly disapproves of his
record.
On a positive note, B.O. does still poll ahead of S.L.
Toddard.

We're buying shrimp, trolls. Nate, purpleguy, RCV, Bob,
copyleft, liberal reader, Jeremiah, Toddard, Alan Brooks I need
some help over here. Don't leave me twisting in the wind.

Contrary to Mr. Bandow's analysis, Obama is right where he wants
to be. As long as George Soros and the newly Islamic loving Left
are happy with him, the Millions in cash will keep flowing his
way.

Doug, Count me as being included in that
47%...............WITHOUT A DOUBT!!!!!

Yup...The darn Dems are DUMB. What entertainment we're gonna
have watching their tactics over the next 7-8 weeks. Lie, Sleaz,
cheat, deny, steal votes on and on. It's hilarious!!
Just think ...If it wasn't for the INTERNET, talk radio, and FOX
this CRUMMY CREW ...might have pulled off the PILLAGE....Now they
are caught red handed....and the people are wide awake , and on to
their treachery!!!
There are many people that I like but that I've never met. There
are many whom I have met and still don't like. In the case of
President Obama, I've never met him but his presence has been
thrust upon me since he is my President. I think that it's
difficult to have a fondness for someone who does not appear to be
concerned about my life despite what he says. His actions indicate
a high disregard for the public at large.

I think most politicians have a "high disregard for the public
at large." It's just that most of them aren't quite so blatant
about it.
Renard| 9.6.10 @ 7:58PM
I'm with you 99%, Jeff. I will just say that, despite the fact
that some say my philosophy is
"unpatriotic", he is not "MY" President, just "THE" President for
the time being.
I served my country for 8 years during the Cold War, lived 1
mile from communism in West Berlin. The commies also had a high
disregard for the public at large. Had Obama been President back
then, we'd all be learning "Russian as a 2nd language"
nowadays.

I don't think President Obama knows the first thing about being
truly disliked. For that, he might ask his immediate predecessor. I
seem to recall the media filled with books and films gleefully
dedicated to the thought of President Bush being assassinated. It
was the only time in my memory that the potential for presidential
murder became fodder for public entertainment, even cropping up on
late-night talk shows.
I also recall that President Bush--for all his faults--never
whined about his unpopularity. I believe that is called being a
man.
Albert Constantine, Jr.| 9.7.10 @ 12:18PM
I concur with your assessment regarding the former president's
unpopularity and his mature ability to deal with it. Ironically, I
think those on the left would ascribe that characteristic as part
of his "cowboy" mentality. Of course, these are some of the things
the left always despised about the image portrayed by John Wayne in
most of his films, and help explain why the Duke was so popular
with the rest of the country. It is unlikely that the current
president will ever be compared to a cowboy, or to John Wayne.
Andrew B| 9.7.10 @ 3:32PM
My thoughts exactly.
A perfect example of the unbridgeable left/right divide is the
whole concept of President Bush as a "Cowboy." A European friend of
mine (who is himself quite conservative, but far-removed from
American politics) told me that most of his peers sneered that Bush
was "just a cowboy."
I told him that this was just the part of Bush that I liked
best. Cowboys, at least as commonly portrayed in our culture,
embody what is best in the American spirit. John Wayne, Gary Cooper
and Randolph Scott never whined about unkind comments. They never
dithered or over-intellectualized every situation. They pulled on
their boots, walked straight ahead and did their jobs.

We could use a lot more of that.
