The Spectacle Blog

The Drudge Report has the ratings out for cable news. In 1,2, 3 order the winners are Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck. No wonder MSNBC hates these people.

FOXNEWS O'REILLY 3,977,000
FOXNEWS HANNITY 2,645,000

FOXNEWS BECK 2,600,000
FOXNEWS BAIER 2,097,000
FOXNEWS SHEP 1,858,000

FOXNEWS GRETA 1,856,000
MSNBC OLBERMANN 1,078,000
MSNBC MADDOW 1,027,000
MSNBC SHULTZ 699,000
CNN SANCHEZ 676,000
CNN KING 620,000
MSNBC HARDBALL 620,000
CNNHN GRACE 586,000
CNN COOPER 581,000

If there was ever an indication of the political hurricane that's about to hit America in November, this is certainly a real-time look at what's coming.

Imagine this. Almost 4 million for O'Reilly, over 2.6 million for Hannity, 2.6 even for Beck and so on.  These people are clobbering the competition. Wiping the floor with them.

There are political tea leaves to be seen here, and not just those of the Tea Party.

Ah yes the more is better philosophy. Kinda like if Hyundai sells more cars than Mercedes, people must want to drive them instead of Mercedes.

quantity doesn't = quality

tonypal| 9.2.10 @ 9:06AM

Ah yes the more is better philosophy. Kinda like if an inexperienced clown/community organizer gets more votes than his opponent, people must want government in complete control of their lives.

quantity doesn't = quality

Ralph Novy| 9.3.10 @ 1:50PM

Hear, hear.

Ralph Novy| 9.3.10 @ 1:51PM

Hear, hear.

Ralph Novy| 9.3.10 @ 1:53PM

Oops.

Thought you meant the FOX News ratings figures (quantities).

My bad.

You're wrong.

real american| 9.15.10 @ 3:16PM

B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ds80| 9.2.10 @ 9:31AM

Ah yes the facts mean nothing philosophy. Kinda like if significant majorities of the electorate say they do not want Obamacare, do not want taxpayer bailouts of Big Finance or automakers, do not want cap-and-trade, do not want amnesty for illegal aliens, do not want marriage redefined by a solitary judge, then those people must be stupid.

A huge quantity of those people can see November from here.

Dem O crat, I have no doubt you'll be satisfied with the quality of the paltry Democrat quantity in Congress, come 2011.

Sean Foushee| 9.2.10 @ 10:10AM

Your metaphor is poorly constructed. If Mercedes and Hyundai cost the same then your premise would be accurate, but since cost is a variable not associated with watching a cable news outlet you're wrong. It doesn't cost a viewer anymore time, energy or money to watch Fox over MSNBC, yet the viewers are overwhelmingly choosing FOX.

SpiralArchitect| 9.2.10 @ 4:17PM

Speaking of whiping the floor.... :o

Yes, and don't let the door hit you on your way out.

Sean, certainly you are correct. Yet you must further consider the source of the comparison - unlikely that (any) o crat would or could take the time to think through what they may speak or write before doing such a deed.

That alone puts another perspective to quality...

JF| 9.2.10 @ 4:26PM

Gee whiz Sean, you expect a liberal to be able to be logical? If Dem o crat were logical and understood what you were attempting to explain, then s/he would be a conservative. Instead, s/he is obviously a product of the government educational complex.

JH| 9.26.10 @ 10:17PM

I agree. That was a pretty lame analogy. With all things being free, I tend to favor the channel with brighter, faster graphics; and characters who are strong, loud and sensational. The level of drama that Fox can instill is pure mastery. Quality TV right there if you ask me. Keep up the good work Fox!

JmsA| 9.2.10 @ 10:17AM

Dem O crat,

I'll quote, actually paraphrase one of your likely heroes, Vladimir Lenin: Quantity has a quality of its own. Keep on whistling pass the graveyard, I like it.

JmsA| 9.2.10 @ 2:03PM

Opps: Meant to write past the graveyard.

Tone Loc| 9.2.10 @ 10:47AM

Ah yes

like say a state (the people) vote twice agansit gay marriage but the "sorry loosers" take it to a judge to override 7 million voters....

Hope your Oct 2nd Union "paid for" Thug rally is great... NBP coming too?

FNHinVA| 9.2.10 @ 10:57AM

OReilly vs. Olbermann - cost free.
Hyundai vs. Mercedes - cost is overriding
That is one lame analogy.

Bruce Berger| 9.2.10 @ 11:43AM

Dem O crat,
I hate to pile on but your comment, which demonstrates no logic whatsoever, calls for it. In politics quantity is quality. Whoever gets the most votes is the winner.

Bruce Berger| 9.2.10 @ 11:46AM

And I should add that quantity equals quality in TV ratings. He/she who draws the most viewers gets the most dough.

nan| 9.2.10 @ 12:58PM

Well at least there are still 22 million or so that watch network news each evening and actually make up their own minds w/o someone telling them how to think.

Charity| 9.10.10 @ 10:44AM

Do you really believe for a moment that network news provide unbiased coverage? Why do you think so many are watching Fox?

Michael Kronschnabel| 9.2.10 @ 1:03PM

In this case quantity does = quality The consumer can have either for the same price and they choose FOX.

Professor| 9.7.10 @ 2:27AM

Kinda like the choice between a Socialist Yugo and any competitive Freemarket Automobile...

If you want to drive a Yugo, be my guest, that is your pursuit of happiness.

Neil| 9.30.10 @ 9:15PM

PPl drive Hydunai because they give you better value better quality control according to road and track and car magazines and are now rated higher then MB...ppl listen to Glenn Beck and others like him because they are fed up with the old dribble and uneducated view points of most liberal newsmen who slant the news ..Glen backs all statements up with facts...

J Kelley| 9.2.10 @ 9:02AM

Back in the day when we had liberal only news we only got Liberal slanted news. With the new media we can get both sides of the issue. The Network news are at all time lows with viewers. How about this business model. This is a center right country, yet we have all these left of center news outlets. It is full on the left, yet they keep trying with left wing radio. It does not work, and they cannot understand why. Duh. Fox news found a ninch in the news market of 55% or so. And they are beating the left wing cable news outlets big time. again Duh?

Wendell| 9.2.10 @ 11:26AM

Yes, the right leaning newsspeak on radio and t.v. does generate a lot of interest for those who have nothing else in their lives to do but to listen to idiots screaming about how bad it is for Americans without a white president. Sorry folks -- your ploy does not work for people who have a mind of their own and can think through the garbage that these fools spew out on a daily basis to their very uneducated a gullible followers.

Philip| 9.2.10 @ 11:46AM

What a racist statement you made.

Tim*| 9.2.10 @ 11:51AM

Wendell Is Very Upset With Us .

Ryan| 9.2.10 @ 12:24PM

YES! You brought up race!

That means you don't have anything reasonable to offer, and we win the debate!

The Flabster| 9.2.10 @ 3:36PM

Dang it Ryan, you beat me to it!

JF| 9.2.10 @ 4:32PM

Who specifically "screams about how bad it is for Americans without a white president"? I am one of those degenerates who listens to conservative talk radio while I work my 8 to 10 hour a day accounting job, and I have never heard anyone other than Chris Matthews, Harry "He doesn't speak with a negro dialect" Reid or Joe Biden make remarks that are remotely associated with race. We "undereducated" people (who are undoubtedly paying your way through life) don't give a rat's patoot about a president's color, but we do care whether or not s/he believes in freedom and self-government or whether s/he believes in the sovereignty of the federal government. Finally Wendy, facts and data are not a "ploy." Only the most pathetic losers would take time out of their day to watch or listen to Olbermann or Schultz. You may as well watch Oprah to stay abreast of current events.

John G| 9.3.10 @ 10:30AM

@Wendell,

Dear racist. Quote your source for your claim that someone on FOX said "how bad it is for Americans without a white president". Yeah, I thought so. Typical liberal drivel. When you lose on the facts, you scream racism. ::yawn::

Neil| 9.30.10 @ 9:18PM

When you have no facts or figures to support you when you are losing the debate when you have nothing to add thats constructive and when you are a taker rather then a maker ...yell racist ...

Nick| 9.2.10 @ 9:17AM

Mr. Beck was able to get about the same amount of people to come to D.C. as Hardball has viewers! What a loser network.

Speaking of Matth-spews, the king of drunken drool was actually berating President Dither last night for, get this, using the TELEPROMPTER too much! How is that for sweet irony?

Mr. Tingly Leg said he's heard from his sources in the White House that O'Bama has businessmen come in for private meetings and reads to them from the teleprompter. How sad is that?

Hey 3/5 Bob, if you still visit, remember how you liberals didn't like it when we conservatives used TOTUS and made fun of B.O. for using the teleprompter for everything? Now you liberals are doing the same thing! Ha-ha!

WL| 9.2.10 @ 9:27AM

Well...while I believe this is great..and I love that people are starting to get the news, instead of a manufactured set of stories that ALWAYS seems to put the Dems in a better light...I DO SEEM TO REMEMBER that these ratings have been like this for a while...including when our Dumb population elected Obama...

ALSO....The American Spectator should really start charging to access the website. That way, these dumb democrats will not be commenting.. because EVERYBODY knows that the core belief of ALL DEMOCRATS is gimme gimme gimme something FREE...You talk about a BEGGAR PARTY...I would be embarrassed to support the party of WELFARE, Food Stamps, "I'm to stupid to support myself", "I need Obama to put gas in my tank and pay my mortgage"........The reason that the dems ever win ANYTHING...is that Government is these people's MASK...to hide their real intentions of FREELOADING

Wendell| 9.2.10 @ 11:30AM

And what do Republicans do? Take, take, take, as much as they can get away with leaving crumbs for the least advantaged. That is Capitalism. It is designed to take advantage of people. But Republicans love it because it gives them free reign to rip off the natural resources of the world in the name of freedom and democracy.

Philip| 9.2.10 @ 11:47AM

What happen to standing on your own two feet?

nan| 9.2.10 @ 1:09PM

Ask the Repub Gov's that ask for state of emergency dollars everytime a natural catastrophe happens. Can't have it both ways. Either you want Fed help or you don't, hypocrites!

move along, nan| 9.2.10 @ 3:35PM

... said nan, who is pure as New York snow.

Bruce Berger| 9.2.10 @ 3:42PM

Nan,

If that is an attempt at a clever gotcha, you have a very long way to go. A Republican governor, representing the citizens of his state, who have paid Federal taxes, should request funds that are legally due the state. Otherwise the citizens of his/her state would be subject to confiscation without any means of legal recapture.

That is not inconsistent at all with a philosophy of smaller government. I would gladly trade in lower government "services" for lower taxes, but since I have no choice in the taxes I pay I want to get what is legally mine.

Ralph Novy| 9.3.10 @ 1:40PM

Philip:

"What happened to standing on your own two feet?"

They were blown off by stepping on a land mine in a country invaded by this country's government at the behest of greedy fuckers looking for cheap resources to acquire/use/resell for obscene profits.

Nick| 9.3.10 @ 2:01PM

And just where did you serve?
What was your MOS?

Bruce Berger| 9.3.10 @ 5:40PM

Ralph,

Define obscene profits.

I assume you are referencing the oil companies when you wrote the above, but your missive was fairly unclear.

Let me make a pre-emptive defense of oil companies. First, a primer. No private company can make you purchase its good or service. Oil companies do what they do because we, the people, want to buy the product, at least at roughly current market prices. If you don't want to buy any oil by-products, and therefore contribute to the profits of the oil companies, that is perfectly fine with me. However, the vast majority of people want what the companies produce, so in my book that means they provide a valuable service.

In case the above was too subtle for you, I just gave an extremely brief description of how capitalism works, by way of example. By the way Ralph, capitalism is the best economic system in the history of mankind.

Bruce Berger| 9.2.10 @ 11:52AM

Wendell,

I guess you prefer a utopia where you, or someone blessed to be so enlightened as you, decides who is deserving of what.

I have news for you. That type of system has never worked in the whole of human history, and I would be willing to wager that it never will. Capitalism, on the other hand, has done more to eliminate human suffering than any other system ever tried.

People like you, while no doubt well-intentioned, have no clue how human interactions work in the real world.

Tim*| 9.2.10 @ 11:58AM

The Invisible Hand Needs To Slap Wendell Awake .

Ken Thompson| 9.2.10 @ 3:53PM

Wendell, you don't seem to understand anything about Republicans. The Republican party was founded in 1854 by anti-slavery people and abolisionists including Abraham Lincoln and even some black people who were freed slaves. Over the years it has evolved into the party of Conservatism, which means: the Constitution works so lets stay with it! The Constitution took us from 13 colonies to being the greatest country in the history of the world in about 235 years while the rest of the world is wallowing in poverty.
Why?
Because the Constitution gives us Capitalism, and Capitalism is the only way to get out of poverty. Capitalism is based on the word "capital" and it's about making money.
Socialism is based on the word "social". It's about social change, i.e. hope and change, blah, blah, blah. You're supposed to support environmentalism and save the planet. You're supposed to be tolerant of gays and support gay marriage. You're supposed to be tolerant of people who want to legalize drugs like marijuana. And you're supposed to help poor people by giving up half of your income to support poor people. It's mind control and it's economic slavery. Socialism and all your left wing policies are just a dictatorship by party instead of one leader.
Capitalism gives everybody and anybody the freedom to go out and make some money. Whether you sell products or provide a service or make inventions, or design things, or if you're a rock star selling tickets to your concert, or if you're an actor selling tickets to your movie, it's all a way for people to make money. That's the only way to get out of poverty.
When your policies put heavy restrictions and taxes on the people, you choke off the economy and make it sluggish. People CANNOT get out of poverty when they have to pay huge amounts of their income to the government.
Socialism is just a permanent recession.
Capitalism is growth and prosperity.

Raving Rabbi| 9.2.10 @ 4:27PM

Good start, Ken!
To continue: Capitalists who want to make money need a) workers to help them mine or produce the goods, and b) customers who can afford the goods. So they hire workers, first on the cheap, to help produce the goods. This makes customers for the next fellow's goods, so the next fellow hires more people to produce more goods for the growing customer base. Soon, enough people have jobs, so the bosses need to a) pay their workers more, and/or b) give them better working conditions, so that they can attract & keep skilled labor. Now, there are better paid and treated workers who want to & can buy more goods, so the other companies need to hire more workers, or become more efficient, to provide those goods.
Soon, you have a large middle-class & upper middle-class who want cleaner air and water, so they pressure companies to manufacture cleaner & healthier.
Hmmm, the entire system seems to work towards more jobs, better wages and conditions, improved efficiency, more innovation to be enjoyed in a cleaner environment...
Not to mention the willingness, even desire, of most well-off people to help out those who are less fortunate than themselves, since they don't need to live in "survival mode" all the time like those in poorer countries. (And when those charities are more local, they know those they're helping, and so they're able to weed out the lazy and dishonest, personalize the assistance, and encourage the downtrodden.)
So, to help the Workers of the World, the best thing Obama can do is help get unemployment back down to 5%, as it was during Clinton & Bush eras.

Ralph Novy| 9.3.10 @ 1:35PM

Ken:

My word.

All those words, and virtually no truth after "The Republican party was founded in 1854...."

How'd you manage to do that?

JF| 9.2.10 @ 4:41PM

Wendy, how are the poor doing now that the Lightbringer is in office? Did you see the near-riots in Atlanta recently when people were clawing and scratching for VOUCHERS that would let them LIVE IN THE PROJECTS???? During the worst years of the Bush administration or the Reagan administration, I don't remember anything like this? Even CNN's news anchor made the remark, "This doesn't look like America ... it looks more like a third-world country." If you had any common sense, I would explain that capitalism not only gives more to society than it takes and has done more to elevate the least advantaged than communism ever did, and it is what generates the tax revenue that you and your fellow leeches wait to be redistributed by Øbama the Lightbringer, but I may as well talk to my cats. They are infinitely smarter than any liberal - at least they will go and catch a bird or rodent if they get hungry; they don't march in front of the capital building screeching about sharing the wealth.

Ralph Novy| 9.3.10 @ 1:31PM

JF:

The instant you used "Lightbringer" was the instant you lost persuasiveness.

Stick to facts. Plenty to criticize Obama with there.

Not just fairer, but more effective. Eh?

Neil| 9.30.10 @ 9:24PM

Wendell you are back ... you really don't get it do you ? Capitalism isn't about leaving crumbs for others its all about ...anyone can suceed if they have the desire brains and are willing to put in the effort.. people all over the world recognixze that thats why so many risk their lives to get here ...OPPORTUNITY to suceed... those that can't those poor disadvantaged as you put it need to start getting accountable for their own actions in like...the govt wasn't put here to support non productive people year in and year out but there's good news here under Obama we now have more ppl on welfare govt assistance food stamsp sna unemployment so Wendell you should be pleased with the progress ..

Ralph Novy| 9.3.10 @ 1:45PM

Let's not go overboard here. In a nation of 300 million people, very few watch cable political shows and very, very few watch liberal political shows. Television is still a malevolent and anti-conservative force in the world. Television is corrosive of good moral order.

And as for Sean Hannity, he's back to his McCain-worshipping ways. McCain is beneath contempt and the enemy of conservatism and so is Sean Hannity, McCain's boy toy. McCain plans on another amnesty and I am forced to believe that Hannity supports amnesty as well.

Enrique Elizondo| 9.2.10 @ 10:30AM

I agree totally about your concept of TV programming. It sucks.

Don| 9.2.10 @ 3:15PM

Maybe you should get yourself one of the newer TVs where you can change channels.

Ken Thompson| 9.2.10 @ 3:18PM

Derek, have you ever WATCHED the Hannity show? He did several shows on the border with the guards, showing them arresting the illegal immigrants. In every show he talks about the Repubs writing a 2nd Contract with America that would include stopping illegal immigration.

The kind of television that is corrosive of good moral order is sitcoms and entertainment shows. Hannity is a political show based on facts. Don't forget--he has access to ALL the news services coming into Fox and he bases his show on those news stories.

Ralph Novy| 9.3.10 @ 1:10PM

Derek:

I couldn't agree with your first paragraph more wholeheartedly -- except for one word.

You wrote

"Let's not go overboard here. In a nation of 300 million people, very few watch cable political shows and very, very few watch liberal political shows. Television is still a malevolent and anti-conservative force in the world. Television is corrosive of good moral order."

The one word? "C0nservative." I'd substitute "progressive," so what you wrote would read

"Let's not go overboard here. In a nation of 300 million people, very few watch cable political shows and very, very few watch liberal political shows. Television is still a malevolent and anti-progressive force in the world. Television is corrosive of good moral order."

Methinks we're on the same sheet of paper, just not the same page.

Eh?

Blue Dog Demos are sucking on the system too and do not care about the population. They want their power money and good times. We pay them ,they get benefits beyond belief only if they finish one term, later the endorsements guarantee a life of full $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Why challenge that. Obama has good intentions in the middle of a corrupt Washington Lifestyle.

Ken Thompson| 9.2.10 @ 3:24PM

Enrique, you've got it backwards. Obama is the corruption in the middle of a government system with good intentions. His stimulus package was just giving money to his cronies. Don't forget he's a Chicago thug and a Marxist. If they ever make a movie about his life it will be called "Mr. Mafia goes to Washington"

Ralph Novy| 9.3.10 @ 1:22PM

Ken:

A "Chicago thug" (ultra-capitalist) and "Marxist" at the same time?

Wow! The David Blaine of politics.

What's next? Will he invent a square circle?

John G| 9.3.10 @ 10:42AM

Speaking of corrupt Washington Lifestyle's, is Michelle proud of her country for the SECOND time of her life after the taxpayers paid for her million dollar vacation in Spain? Who would want to vacation in America and use American tax dollars to pay for American goods and services during a recession. Ewe! Let them eat cake!

Ralph Novy| 9.3.10 @ 1:26PM

John:

Stop and think. What do you think G.W. Bush's "vacations" in Texas cost us? And....what business does ANY president have taking ANY "vacation," eh?

Bottom line: Think you SHOULD criticize Obama for taking vacations from the job, but leave the spouse out of it and apportion blame (as to predecessors) fairly.

Yes?

John G| 9.3.10 @ 2:45PM

Fail.

I think when I'm paying for Michelle's extravagant vacations, without the President I might add, I have EVERY RIGHT to criticize her.

Steve| 9.2.10 @ 12:19PM

Hear, Hear! Thomas Sowell is long overdue for a show. Too bad he isn't our President.

Enrique Elizondo| 9.2.10 @ 10:28AM

Poison is not always neutralized with milk, you must attack with manly force and the Democrats do not really want it because they are in the middle of it. They are sucking on the system also. I am speaking Washington no the populus.

SeaHunter| 9.2.10 @ 10:31AM

In the book Art of War it says, "Battles are first won in the temples." That is where Beck is winning his battle. Liberals havn't a clue what the "temple" even is. It's not God per se, but rather core values. Liberals are going to lose the battle, big time, for now, finally, they are losing the "temple." Read this blog carefully. See how many entries substute rabid hatred for values, wish forfillment for reason. If Beck can gain the temple, liberalism as we have known it in this country is dead. And Beck is winning.

Thank you Enrique. I am so glad that you were able to point this out to me. I am not smart enough to figure any of this out without your help. You are so wise and insightful. The scales have dropped from my eyes and I am going to start watching Ed Schulz or that hottie woman Maddow. I still think Keith Olberman is an idiot but if your don't, them maybe I should reassess my view. God bless you.

tonypal| 9.2.10 @ 1:20PM

This question is for all non-Wendell posters on this site. Why is anyone responding to this guy? Apart from his obvious boyish insecurities, what exactly does he bring to the discussion? Would any of you argue with a slow witted child. because that's what you're doing when you engage Wendell.

SeaHunter| 9.2.10 @ 1:33PM

The Wendell's and the Enriques' on this blog only support what I have thought for some time. They are incapable of supporting their ideas with facts, their beliefs with reason. This is why this new movement in America is going to win out. It is what I call "The Temple." The Temple of reason and ethics perhaps. It is here that Beck delt a body blow to liberalism. So why read the Wendell posts, if for no other reason than to support my argument that the left is now reduced to the useless name calling by those who put agenda ahead of reason, method before ethics.

Pal Tony, I love seeing trolls like Wendell and the terminally inarticulate Enrique get skewered by bright folks with functioning brains. I know it's pointless to reply, but it is humorous.

Marie Bergeron| 9.2.10 @ 10:08PM

I am glad that there are enough folks here to present reason, and moral anchor, to Wendell, and Enrique. I used to debate such as they into silence, but, it is so easy that I quit. However, I get a great lift in spirit seeing so many who think as I do. Bully!!

Oldefarte| 9.2.10 @ 1:46PM

I can't imagine anyone sane human being with sufficient intelligence being able to stomach watching the vile, putrid garbage coming froth from the mouths of those MSNBC idiot commentators. As stated, maybe their/MSNBC's presence is a good thing, as normal Americans are being so disgusted and turned off by their EXCREMENT content that they/Americans have now awakened and are prepared to storm the election polls in November !!!!!

Mad Hatter| 9.2.10 @ 4:45PM

Ah yes, us conservatives have stripped away Obama's disingenuous bipartisanism and MSNBC's idiocies, and are now itching to storm the polls...

Yeah, I tried, for research, to watch Oberman(sic), and others while I ran for an hour in the gym. Keith was as I had seen before, but, there is a young man who follows him that must be seen to be believed. I flashed back to a time, years ago, in college, when I reasoned with first and second class students. That person was a child, with a child's mind, and mean things to say about conservatives, instead of presenting any ideas. It was so beneath me. WHO is supporting that nitwitwork?

freedom fighter| 9.2.10 @ 2:56PM

The so called leftest democrates will all be voted out in the next few years........The American majority will rule.....

Returned To God| 9.2.10 @ 4:26PM

It seems to me that most of you are missing the point entirely. Name calling and inuedo from either the left or the right will not accomplish anything. We need to work together to bring America back to a Constitutional Government. It is only in a Constitutional Government that our differences can be reconciled and our nation healed, and without healing, we accomplish nothing.

Americans need to wake up the fact that Beck is simply another opinion pushing charlatan who is a product of mormon cult theology and he mixes this with his personal make up as a dry alcoholic. On his radio show and Fox Network program he consistent demonstrates all the unstable behaviors of a dry alcoholic which include grandiosity, judgmentalism, intolerance, impulsivity, ADD and indecisiveness. Alongside that reality, Glenn Beck does not possess a single ounce of journalistic integrity, has no college degree, has no qualifications and he is definitely not a true conservative. But then, what can anyone expect from someone who can't find anything filthier than their own personal reflection. Since people like Beck cannot survive on the basis of any personal merits, they survive by putting others down with lies and half truths in order to feel good about themselves. The truth about Beck is that he a dry mormon alcoholic who never got the counseling required for alcoholics. To further complicate things and confuse people, Beck flippantly throws around Christian terms like "God", "Jesus","Holy Spirit" as well as voices of other so called "Spirit Powers" on his radio talk show. Beck is a mormon in active standing with the mormon church and is not a Christian. Mormonism teaches many gods, that the god of the earth was once a man who attained godhood status, there is no trinity, the cross of Christ means nothing and that Jesus Christ and Satan were brothers. Because Beck does not possess a single ounce of journalistic integrity, he is the perfect abortion poster child for Fox Network. The people who love what Beck says are no different than the impressionable sheep who loved every speech made by Adolph Hitler in his early years when he brought Germany into an era of economic prosperity These same sheep also blindly followed Hitler into one of the darkest chapters of world history. Beck and the Fox Network both cater to the same lowest common denominator of demagoguery. Beck would not know the first thing about God as he is a mormon. Someone should ask him which of the many mormon gods he kept talking about during his argument with himself on Saturday on the square in DC. Like a typical dry alcoholic, Beck even lied on national television when he spoke about holding a document signed by George Washington. That event never took Place. Unfortunately, people who love being led around by the nose do not realize that Beck is talking about a different god than that of Christianity, Judaism or Islam and that he has been a product of mormonism cultism from the day he started doing a radio talk show as an opinion pusher. You don't have to have a degree in psychology to see that he exhibits all the signs of a dry alcoholic. The only reason this unstable impressionable idiot fell into mormonism was because the woman he wanted to have sex with would not do so unless they got first got married and from that point, they joined the mormon cult. Glenn Beck is as big a charlatan as Josephs Smith or that 5th grade graduate (Charles T Russell) who started the Jehovah's Witness cult. This is Glenn Beck in a very accurate & concise nutshell. Considering the fact that Becks personal views are extreme Marxist Libertarian, his form of patriotism is false and he is a person who has no real substance or depth. It will not surprise many of use when Beck’s next big thing is to come out of the closet and announce his homosexuality to the nation. Simply put…he is just another political neocon.

Dennis,
Anyone investigating the Latter Day Saints (Mormons) with an honest and sincere heart will find they are sound christian citizens who have a belief system founded on the ressurrected Jesus Christ. That is a fact. They make great friends and good neighbors you can depend on in a crisis. Since this country is in a crisis mode, it is time to put down petty bickering on points of doctrine, join hands and elect some honorable statesmen for once.

Jeff| 9.17.10 @ 4:43PM

Dennis is on the left wings payroll. He has posted his same rant word for word across the internet using different names in an attempt to slander conservative voices.

Jeffs Daddy| 9.18.10 @ 1:48AM

Folks please don't blame Jeff for his misguided statements. It is not his fault that he was impressionable enough to become a tea--bagger. As soon as he finishes masturbating to Christine O Donnell's photos on the Fox Network, the lust will have passed and Sarah Palin will be back to being his darling.

Jamal Ishmail| 9.24.10 @ 6:01AM

More people watch The Jerry Springer Show and E News than all of the Fox News shows combined. High ratings doesn’t mean quality or good taste.

James Bond| 9.24.10 @ 6:13AM

Beck is the biggest conman on TV He is worst than TV preachers

JH| 9.26.10 @ 9:47PM

Easy there everyone. Can't this data simply mean that conservatives really love watching TV?
