Christian Adams and the Washington Times both have the latest on the Obama administration’s apparent failure to ensure the voting rights of military personnel stationed abroad. Adams notes that Wisconsin is both particularly problematic and particularly important because its Senate race and three House races are all very close, so that military votes could well make the difference. The question is, are Michael Steele and his RNC staff taking any time from their chartered jets in order to pay attention to this and do something about it? How about the House and Senate leadership? At least the head of the Republican senatorial committee, John Cornyn, also is the author of the law that requires protection of military votes, and he has been a stalwart voice on this, very much to his credit. Fox News has done a wonderful job highlighting this issue, especially Shannon Bream. (They also have put me on the air three times to talk about it.) Megyn Kelly and James Rosen also have covered the issue for Fox. Eric Eversole, a former DoJ official who now serves as the executive director for the non-profit Military Voter Protection (MVP) Project, first blew the whistle on this at the Washington Times, and followed up here. It’s also worth noting that everybody I have spoken to has had good words for the Pentagon folks — Bob Carey and Clifford Stanley in particular — who are in charge of this issue from DoD’s end — but the problem appears to be with the Justice Department.

Why isn’t the rest of the media paying attention? And why aren’t more other elected officials doing so?

You TeaBaggers are as dumb as a rock. The grunts in the military want the hell out of the mess Shrub put them in. Be carefull , my money is the Dems will carry the military vote anyway. Of course the salad chest higher ups, with big pensions at stake, will vote Repug, because they get rewarded with Gubment jobs when they "retire".

Folks,
Tillman here is our enemy. Study carefully.
Then get out the plumber's helper, and flush him.

CPT -T says: "My money is the Dems will carry the military vote anyway." What? Ha, Ha!! That's friggin' funny!! Put down that joint for a second CPT-T, and think before you type. Obviously, you are not in the Military (and probably never, or would never have served), otherwise you'd know that most of the Soldiers serving our Country today are by their very nature, Conservative and totally Patriotic (Something you probably know very little about). Hell, I doubt that you would've made it through the first week of Basic Training without crying for your Mommy. Do you know how I know this? It's because you've got no heart CPT-T, otherwise you wouldn't have used the name Tillman in your post, while trashing the Military, it's very disrespectful. But that's how you live your life no doubt, without honor. You wouldn't recognize honor, if it was standing in front of you in formation.

Now about being as dumb as a rock, well I'll admit to that, I'm not really that bright. But I'm a smart enough "dumb rock" to know that we've got to vote out every Democrat, Progressive, and Commie (pardon the shorthand) come this November. Pretty smart idea, for a "dumb rock"? Now will all the Military ballots be counted this year? I truly doubt it (most of the time, they don't even get to them), but I don't think that the Military's vote is going to make that much of a difference "this" year, as it may have been in the past. That's because the tide has turned against you CPT-T, and you know this, but you'll never admit to it. I'm still going to vote this year, even if they don't get to my ballot, just in case it is close (but I doubt it). Airborne!!

L,L, and L,

Thank you again.
"The Nays of Texas" is coming right along.
...no blood on the risers, Okay?

Lullabys, Legends and Lies| 8.31.10 @ 5:39PM

Hi Ken: I'm looking forward to your upcoming book. Do the Troops get a discount on it? I sure do hope so!!

Speaking of blood on the risers, my last jump didn't quite go the way it was supposed too. The plane dropped suddenly, just as I was about to exit, so I ended up putting my head into the inside wall by the ramp, so then I had to go out the tail of the bird ass first (not the preferred method by the way). This caused me to spin like a top, and I ended up having a lot of twists in my risers, which blocked my toggles, so I couldn't steer my parachute, or slow myself down either. But I finally got the twists out, with about 75 feet to spare, turned into the wind to slow down, and then landed. Which wasn't the worst landing I've ever had, except for the little tree that I smashed into, but I won that battle, with a couple of bruises to show for it too, but you should've seen the little tree (I really kicked his ass). Yeah, yeah, I know, the environmentalists are going to have a cow because I killed a tree. But hey, it was either him or me, so what was I to do?

L. Ross| 8.31.10 @ 4:20PM

Dipshit, if you are going to befoul the name of a fallen warrior, you could at least get the rank correct. It is Corporal Tillman. Additionally, if you knew anything about the military, you would know there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that the democrats will win their vote. Idiot.

JmsA| 8.31.10 @ 11:26PM

Given your unabashed lack of class and respect for Pat Tillman, may he rest in peace, and your colossal ignorance, I will only pose this question: Why do you think the dems are trying to suppress the overseas military vote, genius?

Texas Mom| 9.1.10 @ 2:34PM

Riddle me this. If the Dems benefit from military ballots why did Al Gore send teams of lawyers to question and invalidate all the military ballots they could during the 2000 recounts??? Moron.

JohnD| 8.31.10 @ 11:01AM

Hey "same old" and "Captain": shouldn't "everyone's vote count?" Wasn't that the mantra of the Florida chad checkers (that only recounted ballots in the Democrat precincts).

As for enlisted men voting Democrat, other than the guy in a Quantico brig for his work with Wikileaks, I doubt many others will vote Democrat. I think the Justice Department would agree with me.

Captain: could you describe, in detail for us, what a "tea bagger" is?

Oldefarte| 8.31.10 @ 11:06AM

THIS is simply outrageous [but not surprising, considering the CHICAGO WAY GOONS now in control of this country]. In addition to the crutial need for all American TAXPAYER-voters to go to the polls and vote for any/all conservative candidates [and against incumbents that have contributed to this toilet bowl situation we are now into]; but after Republicans take over control of the House, the first orders of business should be to elect a new Speaker [and get rid of Nancy the Senile Pig], and then begin working on the political process necessary for bringing an article of IMPEACHMENT. Beck highlighted beautifully [with 300000 brave/patriotic Americans] the frustration and subdued anger over last weekend at the Lincoln Memorial; and now it's time for all of us to gas up the car and prepare to transport ourselves and our eligible families, fellow church members, work associates, etc to the voting booths to get the ball rolling. NOVEMBER CANNOT GET HERE SOON ENOUGH FOR SOME OF US!!!!

Teflon93| 8.31.10 @ 12:38PM

"Why isn't the rest of the media paying attention? And why aren't more other elected officials doing so?"

Gee, I don't know---maybe because disenfranchising military voters is about the only viable strategy the Democrats have to pull any of these races out?

LiveFreeOrDie| 8.31.10 @ 1:48PM

Why? Because the left and left wing media's support of the military is a facade. They don't support the military in their hearts and never have.
