AmSpec alum Jeremy Lott conducts a hostile self-interview about his new
book on the faith of William F. Buckley, Jr. Lott wishes
that Buckley's notorious exchange with Gore Vidal had ended
differently.
And while I'm being outrageous, he should have punched Gore
Vidal while the cameras were rolling. You shouldn't get away
with calling somebody a Nazi to his face on national television
without at least a love tap.
If we can have national greatness conservatism, progressive
conservatism, crunchy conservatism, and South Park conservatism,
why not face-punching conservatism?
Buckley was nothing but a pseudo intellectual snob, who fancied
himself an aristocrat.
His hoity toity, pompous nasal tone tells all anyone needs to
know about the Hell residing, Firing Line punk.

Of Course, That Keith Olbermann makes my knees quiver. He is one
hunk of a man.

Quiver or "tingle"?

Buckley's mannerisms did not subtract from the value of his
output.
Buckley was Skull And Bones as well as CIA, and an exemplar of
how the power elite controls mainstream opinion. His monstrously
mean-spirited "obituary" of Murray Rothbard reveals him for what
he was - a Yale-educated thugocratic creep. But as Mark Twain
said - in slightly different context - I repeat myself.

Vidal actually called Buckley a "crypto-Nazi". He later claimed
he meant to say "crypto-Fascist". Damn those Freudian slips!

Nazis and Fascists are the same thing.
