A video posted at Jim Hoft’s Gateway Pundit blog shows Illinois Rep. Melissa Bean using a muscular security guard to squelch unwelcome questions at a town hall meeting.
The meeting was held Thursday at the public library in Round Lake, Illl. While captions in the video label the security guard “Bean’s thug,” one Illinois source said Monday that the man is actually employed by the library. The video also shows an aide to the Democrat congresswoman asking a constituent at the meeting to stop recording.
Illinois’ 8th District, running from the northern suburbs of Chicago up to the Wisconsin border, was held by Republican Phil Crane until 2004, and Bush carried the district with 55% of the vote in 2004. Like many other vulnerable Democrats in this mid-term campaign, Bean has refused to debate her Republican challenger, Joe Walsh.

1. I don't see much thuggishness on the vid, just someone who's probably an off-duty cop (or less) trying to keep order.
2. As in other low-wattage 'partier/libertarian vids, the 'partier/libertarian idiot spends more time asking about asking a question than, actually asking a question.
3. As in other low-wattage 'partier/libertarian vids, the 'partier/libertarian idiot ends up asking things that are open-ended or are statements not questions.
4. The solution, as always, is to find one or two smart, sane, civil, mainstream people - preferably trial lawyers - to ask things.
Or, don't and keep losing.

"24Ahead" you're agenda is showing. Typical left/lib response:
1. I don't see much thuggishness on the vid, just someone who's probably an off-duty cop (or less) trying to keep order.
You weren't there, were you?
2. As in other low-wattage 'partier/libertarian vids, the 'partier/libertarian idiot spends more time asking about asking a question than, actually asking a question.
Ad hominem, name calling. Yes, his perfectly valid question was about being able to ask a question - except in your world of free speech for me and not for thee.
3. As in other low-wattage 'partier/libertarian vids, the 'partier/libertarian idiot ends up asking things that are open-ended or are statements not questions.
More ad hominem, name calling.
4. The solution, as always, is to find one or two smart, sane, civil, mainstream people - preferably trial lawyers - to ask things.
Yes, the left does not like hearing from the unwashed masses in flyover country.

Yeah - but you voted for this administration.

"I have yet to find a 'partier who's capable of thinking and of telling the truth. "
I have yet to find a liberal who ever gave a sh*t about the truth.
Brad| 8.17.10 @ 6:42AM
Wow - We would all be better off if the liberal left spent as much time actually thinking about things as they do coming up with insults and telling us how brilliant they are. It's been my experience that when someone has to tell you they "are" something, they usually "aren't". I'll take the simple folk in flyover country any time over the libs on the coasts.....
Hot Gumbeaux| 8.17.10 @ 7:37AM
I can understand the point here. After all, as someone who lives in the Peoples Republic of Illinois I should never question these people that steal my money through taxation, make it near impossible to start a business up without a case of red tape and fees to go through first, and then wonder why we want serious changes. Maybe we can dedicate that Rostenkowski wing of Marion State Penitentiary for these politicians to start their second terms...in prison.

they used these tatics in nazi era and looked what happened............
they used to call them storm troppers
sixty years later no difference.
Speedypete| 8.17.10 @ 9:29AM
Watch the old newsreels of the 1930's and witness the rise of Nazi Germany. Only this time it is a just cause. They don't want you to control the largest grab of power in the United States history.

All Democrat politicians are THUGS, since they obtain their marching orders from the CHICAGO WAY goons that are sadly now running this country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"It is the absolute right of the State to supervise the formation of public opinion."...Goebbels
Nice to see Rep. Bean is channelling her inner Nazi. Just ONCE, I'd like to see one of these thugs get their arms broken when they lay hands on someone.

The reason the democratzi's are not good at having townhall meetings is they can't speak in complete sentences, they can only utter the 'talking points' of that day. And they think the rest of us are all clueless!!!!!!NOT ANY MORE.
darcy| 8.17.10 @ 2:50PM
"And they think the rest of us are all clueless!"
Or, as Thomas Sowell wrote today, the Left (including leftist RINOs [McCain and Graham come to mind]) are Playing Us For Fools.
Just because the base of the democrat party is a bunch of dolts, rubes, thugs and lay-abouts, the "ruling class" think that the rest of us are too.
Rollback, however, has already begun. And we're not stopping until these wannabe dictators are exposed and sent packing. This is America, not some commie socialist workers collectivist faux utopia. Return to the Constitution with all its NEGATIVE rights (in which we the people tell the government what it can't do to us) or suffer the consequences of your continued intransigence.
I hear ammo is flying off the shelves. What's with that?

As another Illinois resident I can state clearly and succinectly the impact that single party rule has had on our citizenry.
Unfortunately for the elites, they no longer control the message as well. So the truth leaks out.
Imagine that! The effrontery of citizens causing the elected elites to feel uncomfortable for unwelcome and stupid decisions.
